Davis Wants To Start

"I'm not really trying to come off the bench anymore. I did it last year because I came here kind of late, but I'm fighting for this starting position," Davis said at the Celtics training camp at the University of Vermont.

"I know we need somebody coming off the bench to produce, but I want to be the starting three," he said. "I want to blow them out of the game so we don't need the bench."

His words shouldn't shock anyone. He's a competitor and of course he'll prefer to start. Doc's coach speak was to make sure the guy that didn't start felt appreciated as well. Look for Davis to start, Welsch to come off the bench, and whoever is hotter will stay in the game longer. I don't know how Allen fits in, but if he plays himself into playing time, that's a good problem to have.
