The Kids Are Just Alright
Doc on Al Jefferson:
"He doesn't know how to do anything else right now, and he doesn't know why he's scoring. Once he understands all those things he'll be pretty good."
On Delonte West (and others):
Asked about the young guys catching his eye, Rivers cracked, "Yeah, they've turned it over a lot and they've fouled a lot. So they've caught my eye a bunch. ... Actually several of them (have looked good). I think Delonte (West)'s ability to play under duress at a slow speed has really stood out to me so far. Being pressured by Gary (Payton) and Marcus (Banks) all day and not really rattling him at all shows me he has great composure, and you know why he played so well last year. That has stood out.
"They're coming along. I think it's going to take them some time. Tony Allen is just a great athlete. He has to learn how to do all the little things, so it's going to take him some time.
"I like where everybody's at."
