Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

8 Mile

Detroit Bad Boys | Need4Sheed | Game Thread | Chat Room | Preview | Box Score

Boston brings its 8 player 9 player (oops) team to Detroit to play tonight's game.  I expect the Celtics to play inspired, gutsy basketball.  I expect Al Jefferson and Gerald Green to bounce back with better games.  And I expect the Pistons will keep the Celtics at arms distance the whole game before throttling it up a notch in the 4th quarter.  And of course, I expect the C's to lose.

These are days for the kids to step up and show their worth.  Since we're in Detroit, here's a couple of quotes for you - first, one from Doc:

“Like I told the guys, all of you who felt you should have been playing more, well, here it is,” said Rivers. “Now’s your chance to prove me wrong.”

Next, one from Eminem:

Look, if you had one shot, one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted-One moment
Would you capture it or just let it slip?

Time to step up kids.

Bonus link: If you missed it, Ryan Russillo (subbing for Chad Ford) had a solid interview with Wyc Grousbeck the other night.

Russillo always brings his A game. Too bad we’re stuck with listening to the EEI guys yelling and screamng at each other all of the time.

I hope he proves me wrong, but I don’t think Gerald will turn out to be all that…….

-no quick first step
-not a slasher
-no cross-over

…like I said, hopefully he will prove me wrong

Nobody needs to prove you wrong Doc – you do that quite well yourself

The Yahoo box score is dead. But we’ll end up with 10 or 12 in the quarter, so not much better.

Sad to say, with Tony Allen the C’s probably win this game.
