Hawks Game

Game Thread | Chat Room

Bulpett reports that Wally and Scal will be in the lineup.

Wally Szczerbiak (ankles, left knee) and Brian Scalabrine (sprained right knee) both practiced today and should be available for duty tomorrow night against Atlanta.

Neither of the two was at 100 percent, but they engaged in round robin one-on-one games with Sebastian Telfair after the main session.

Doc Rivers said he expects there could be limitations on their playing time, but added it will be good to have the extra bodies and cut back on some of the too heavy playing time being given to others.

This is a two game swing in the Oden sweepstakes, so lets hope that Wally plays 45 minutes and misses every shot he takes.

But I really do fear a win tonight unless Doc holds West or Jefferson out.

Wally isnt playing tonight. Heard it on FSN.

If they went one on one with Telfair they probably do think they are ready…..

i just went to watch the game on dish network’s free preview nba league pass and all the games are there except for Cs and hawks, it says the game is blacked out. anyone else get that?

“They’re not 100% but they’ll play”… I can’t stand that lol. The celtics don’t need either of them and I don’t want to see either in the game.

Let’s see. The Hawks just tied the game and Gomes, and Ray are a combined 1 for 17. Rondo has 4 turnovers and no assists, and hasn’t come close to making a shot.

a step closer to lotto land… here we come.

I don’t think Dwane Casey could have done any better than Rivers in this game. Let’s see. They scored 4 points in 10 minutes against a 2-3 zone. Very impressive. Nice to see the coach make those kinds of adjustmentds against an exotic defensive scheme.

this was a bad, demoralizing loss. what I want to know is how come, 41 games into the season, Doc still gets flummoxed by a zone defense? it’s ridiculous. after jefferson went down it reminded me of the game where we lost tony allen- we just looked defeated. gerald green, allen ray, gomes all looked horrible tonight.

And take a look at the schedule. It does not get any easier (how could it?). It is not a stretch to say that we could lose our next 10 to 15 games. Which of the next 15 do you see us winning?

In the words of Homer Simpson…. mmmmm Ping pong balls!

  • I’m a hardcore true Celtic fan but if I can get the equivalent of a potential Bill Russell/Larry Bird player…. go ahead and keep me in purgatory the rest of the year. I’m a distance runner, I have the endurance.

For these radio guys asking about playing Pierce/Wally.

On Wally, do what 76ers did with Webber, they bought him out and saved $10M off his contract by the buyout. If no buy out, then Wally gets 15 min. this is about the future.

On Pierce, play him 25 min. a game and have him “blend” in. He can’t be playing 35-40 min. taking every shot down the stretch, etc. This is about the future, not whether we end up with 24 wins with a limited Pierce or a 30 win with Pierce going balls to the walls every game.

I’m not for purposely tanking, but I’m not going to do all the extras for a couple meaningless wins.

ONE MORE YEAR OF LOSING! I truly believe that’s what it will take.

by ManUp on Jan 24, 2007 11:08 PM EST reply actions

Man up, I hope it is a half year and not a whole year of losing.

by bceltfan on Jan 24, 2007 11:27 PM EST reply actions

I am fairly confidant we will continue to lose more games than we win for several more years…
