Agent Zero's Prophesy
I love when I forget to post something interesting and 5 different threads pop up on the forums and people repeatedly post about it on the comments. You guys keep me straight and make sure I don't miss a thing. Sometimes I just don't have the time to post it right away.
So without further ado, here are Gilbert's comments from his blog:
Oh man, everybody is jumping on this Celtics band wagon. You know what? I was going to go prediction-free for the whole year, but I guess I’m going to break that now.
Now, if anybody remembers back when I got drafted, I got a report back that the reason I dropped so far in the draft was that Jim O’Brien of the Celtics said that I was too immature and that I wasn’t ready for the NBA. What really happened was that I had an Achilles injury and I went back to L.A. to go get it healed when I was supposed to have a two-day workout in Boston with O’Brien. He didn’t like that. So word came back to me that he was trashing me and it put this knife through my chest about the Boston Celtics.
Back in the day when I would day dream I thought that if I could score 100 points against any team it would be the Boston Celtics. Now, I knew it would never happen, but if I could do one thing in the NBA it would be to score 100 against Boston. So anyway, since everybody is back on the Boston bandwagon it brought back old memories. So listen here. On November 2nd, we’re going to go into that building, we’re opening up Boston. Right now I’m telling the Boston fans: You guys are going to lose. It’s not going to be a victory for Boston. You might as well just cheer for me, because Boston isn’t winning in Boston for the season opener. I’m sorry.
Gilbert is a fun loving guy, but he really does seem to have some bad feelings for Boston. In fact, if you recall, he was the one that flipped off Paul Pierce a few years back.

I love Gilbert , he is a tongue in cheek type of guy and isnt an a-hole . Read up on his history and what he does for his foundation to know the true person he is.He is a very unique and somewhat twisted individual but in a day and age where everyone has become so damn corporate looking he is by far the standout in my eyes.
Big deal he wants to win in Boston? why shouldnt he ? Its showmanship at its finest.

Notice how we can cheer for Gilbert or Boston, but there’s no mention of the Wizards.
I hope this Celtics team takes care of business with the Wizards and Mr. Arenas. And I hope they do it in the fashion the Patriots did for the Seahawks.

well jim obrien was half right. he was definitely ready but he was also immature. and he still is immature now and may always be. definitely fits into that slew of pgs that will never win a thing in this league. as others have correctly noted, notice mind you he doesnt say if he could do anything in the nba its “win a title”. or note he says “cheer for ME”. thats who gilbert arenas is and no eam led by him will ever win anything more with him than 1 or 2 playoff games.
I like Gilbert though he is kid of crazy. His words against Boston don’t mean much to me really. I think he would love to be in a situation like the one the Celtics are in right now and that he just likes to tell everybody else what He is going to do next. He wants to win and to get a bit more of attention he just said out loud that Boston ain’t winning on Nov 2. Nothing more here.
ESPN has us #2! Well, I said it before, 58 W this season, NBA finals. I’m getting ready for some good ole’ fashion I told you so comments this season.

MISPLACED Anger!
Mr. Arenas,
Please see your team schedule for October 31st. You have a meeting with Coach Jim O’Brien at his facility. Feel free to direct your concerns to him.
Your complaint[/b]
“I got a report back that the reason I dropped so far in the draft was that Jim O’Brien”
We Celtics are not interested.
Thank you. Goodbye.
Gilbert Arenas is the Steve Smith of the NBA. Anything that you say about him he will take the wrong way and use it as motivation. They could have said that he was wearing a white t-shirt that day and he would want to score 60 because the sales clerk said it was ivory.

Um, someone should tell Gil that Jim O’Brien was relieved of his duties several years ago and no longer has an affiliation with the Celtics.
Also, someone should remind Gil that he guaranteed a playoff victory for the Wiz in ’07. We all saw how well that went. He might want to be careful with the guarantees and predictions.
