No KG, No Pierce, No Win
Celtics starters Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Kendrick Perkins took the night off to rest. Leon Powe, Brian Scalabrine, and James Posey started in their place with Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen.
Rivers said Allen will likely take tomorrow's game off at New York, and Garnett, Pierce, and Allen could sit out Tuesday's game at the Nets. Allen, however, told Rivers after the game that he would prefer to play to get in a rhythm.

After the public relations disaster of Friday, How management could see sitting out their two best players the day after as a good thing is beyond me. They essentially had Friday night off. These fans also paid full price for their tickets….and probably $20 for parking, Master Po. A cameo would have at least shown some respect for the fans….Which seems to be the least of management’s concerns. After feeding the disgraceful tanking crap that was the last half of last season, (Much like the last half of last season, we saw Rivers yukking it up with the opponent at the end of a blowout last night) it looks like management’s goal is to win a championship in front of a Phillips Arena-sized crowd.
They’ve done an outstanding job of building a formidable team. Hopefully they figure out that their fans are not paying full price to see a tanking job, a practice, or a summer league game before thay have no fans.
