AW or Michael Doleac? Which would you prefer?
When Antoine plays on the block, passes, and rebounds he’s a great talent. It’s been getting him to do those things that has frustrated his coaches and the fans. As long as he stays within 15ft of the basket he’ll do great things.
Don’t forget how great he was in that 25pt fourth quarter comeback against the Nets! Antoine can be a very very valuable asset off the bench.
In keeping Brandon Wallace the Celtics went for upside, athleticism, a high BB IQ, size/length and versatility. They also displayed patience as it will take Wallace a couple of seasons to adapt to the SF position.
By contrast, neither Dahntay Jones nor Manuel had a similar upside and both were duplicates of players already on the roster. One dimensional players are common but there is a cautious optimism that Brandon Wallace could develop into a COMPLETE player.

Pruit, Davis, and Wallace (along with Rondo, Perkins, and Powe) represent the future development of the Celtics. GAP is definitley the here and now, but that window is 5-6yrs at the most. That gives the brass time to bring Wallace, Pruitt, and Davis along slowly and develop them as opposed to the pressure put on previous youth to develop and contribute later. Powe and Perkins will continue to improve, improve, and improve into more and more solid contributors/role players. Wallace has some athletic gifts that if given some time to learn his position and gain confidence may eclipse all even current optimistic expectation.
Any other move not involving a center or pg is a moronic move.

Good move. Gives them flexibility to pickup another player. If Walker is bought out, (I do appreciate what ‘Toine did for the C’s when he was here), I don’t think he’s the player we need. I think our first need is a servicable Big. Second is a backup point. I think Eddie House helps the team more as a 2 guard. His spreading the floor and shooting is what we need from him and playing point takes that away. TA might be able to do the job, but he’s not ready yet and when he is it will also take away from what he does best, flash to the basket and shoot from outside in rhythm. I just have a hunch that DA may already have made a decision.
