Posey, Scal expected to play Tuesday
Brian Scalabrine and James Posey, who both sat out Saturday's win over New Jersey, practiced with the team Monday and both are expected in uniform and ready to go Tuesday night when the Celtics meet the Pacers in Indianapolis.Good news on both players, and it's nice to hear that Scal appreciated the cheers / chant.
Posey injured his lower back on Wednesday night against the Nuggets, while Scalabrine suffered a concussion after taking an inadvertant shot from Hawks forward Al Horford.
"It feels a lot better," Posey said of his back after Monday's session at The Sports Authority Training Center at HealthPoint. "I got smashed in between like four players, and I tried to play through it, and then I tried to take a charge on J.R. Smith and fell on it, and that really didn't help the situation."
Meanwhile, Scalabrine says he doesn't remember how the actual concussion happened, but said he was told that the crowd was chanting his name in support as he was laying on the floor.
"People have mentioned that. I do appreciate that," said Scalabrine.

Kind of makes me harken back a few years to when Perk was inserted in the lineup against the Knicks because every big was injured…..He got something like 11 points and 18 rebounds in a Celtics’ victory.
He then got DNP/"C"D in the ensuing 3 games.
With Scal back, I expect the same scenario for Glen Davis.

I’m sorry, but Carter is pretty fragile…no?
Out indefinitely?!?
Ankle sprains are graded as 1, 2, or 3, depending on the extent of the injury. Grade 1 sprains are very mild, involving stretching of the ligaments or, perhaps, small partial tears, usually of the anterior talofibular ligament. Treatment consists of rest, the use of ice, compressive bandages, and elevation of the ankle, and early active use with the ankle bandaged, taped, or in a specialized splint.
Good news regarding PO-sey; the Indy game ought to be tough, and we’ll need all hands on deck.
Good news re: Veal too. Despite his occassional veiled criticisms, I know that life just isn’t right for Master Po without being able to see his boy, the thing of beauty known as Scalabrine, loping gracefully down the court, grabbing tons of rebounds LOL.
This is certainly good news and makes me feel even better about the upcoming games.
As good as the news is regarding Scal (bouncing back from a concussion mild or otherwise is a positive), does anyone else feel that Big Baby just took some of his future minutes in this past Saturday’s game in New Jersey?
I think that Davis just got himself more minutes except in certain situations dictate that Scal is the better defender.

It’s excellent news to hear that Posey is healthy, as he has the unique ability to perform a variety of different roles for his team from off the bench.
The news about Scal is also good. However, while I for some reason have always kind of liked Scalabrine, I’m hoping that this doesn’t mean that Doc will stop playing BBD. I think he can provide a lot more for the team on MOST nights (Scal can be a very effective role player in certain matchups) with this team—if not now, then down the road. I think that developing Davis can be a key in determining this team’s success come playoff time. Just my two cents.

the concensus seems to be
“welcome back SCAL” but please “continue to play BBD please !!!”
I agree. But, it ain’t gonna happen. Doc is pretty strict with his whole rookies need to earn minutes thing. I’m not a Doc-basher by any means. And certainly, he didn’t invent this little rule (see Larry Brown’s banishment of Darko at the end of the Detoit bench a few years ago). But, I think this ought to be handled situationally. Especially with a team as veteran-laden as this one is now, you can afford to have one rookie in the regular rotation. But, it ain’t gonna happen.
