Orien Greene Waived
The Kings waived Orien Greene. I wonder if we could pick him up for at least a 10 day contract.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- The Sacramento Kings waived guard Orien Greene on Thursday after just seven games with the club.
Greene, a third-year pro, started two early games as Sacramento's point guard in place of injured Mike Bibby. But Greene lost the job early on, and newcomer Beno Udrih had 17 points and five assists in the Kings' loss to Minnesota on Wednesday night.

Orien Greene is so NBA marginal as determined now by three teams. What we don’t know about Pruitt may have more value than what we do know of Greene, ie potential.
You are still worried about the PG depth but it hasn’t been a weakness. Rondo is on track, House is maybe a little better than expectations and Tony Allen I guess played well (missed it) against Nets. Your 4th guy is Pruitt or O.Greene. I’d leave as is.
Some guy on MSNBC speculated that Knicks will buy out Marbury and Marbury could come to C’s. No way! I don’t know how Isiah manages to turn players into garbage but look at Steve Francis. Now Marbury.
We’re good. The players can get better together. We have a nice blend of young and old. Any mopre additions may be a subtraction.
Orien Greene is a terrible basketball player who from most accounts has not improved on iota since he was in high school. The most important thing that a PG on this team needs to be able to do is get the ball up the court, and he’s a worse ballhandler than Tony Allen. I’m certainly more comfortable having Ray Allen bring the ball upcourt than Orien Greene.
The one thing he does nicely is play good D (he’s a decent matchup against some smaller SGs, not just PGs), and while that’s nice…. where and when does he play? He just does not have NBA-level PG skills.
His next contract’s in Europe….

Off subject here, but how is our other old point guard, Delonte West, doing in Seattle? Doesn’t seem like his numbers are all that great.

I think it’s only fitting that we sign him to a 10-day deal so that he can retire a Celtic

The only tihng Orien was good at was driving around Waltham at 3am, going down main street doing about 80. Good bye.

Orien is not the vetran prsense I want, but I always liked his D and his size. I say try him for 10 days.

Uh, no.
Not unless we’re founding a Boston Celtics Futility Alumni Association.
And we should start that with Gerald Green.
