Pierce In Pain
Paul Pierce is the latest Celtic to cause concern because of an injury.
Pierce, who averages a team-best 21.5 points per game, was a game-time decision last night because of a back strain, and scored the winning hoop in Boston's 92-91 decision over the Heat.
The five-time All-Star was injured in Wednesday's win over New Jersey, and didn't participate in yesterday's shootaround. Pierce, however, gutted it out for 30 minutes but struggled offensively, making 5 of 12 shots for 12 points and committing four turnovers.
"I didn't even know if I was going to play tonight," Pierce said. "But it's getting a little better and I decided to give it a go."

Hopefully coaching and management realizes that these guys are all coming off injuries and are in their 30s. This kind of thing is inevitable with guys in their 30s at this level no matter what shape they’re in. Pollard looked good in 7 minutes….how about 12-15? Davis? Pruitt? Tony? These guys need to be ready to fill in.
KG’s intensity may cut both ways. The passion is amazingly fun to see. But it is an 82 game schedule plus playoffs. You can’t remove your stars in the final 5 mins of a close game but somehow Doc needs to think this through. Yes, sit down a Scal if he’s off but bring in Big Baby rahter than KG. If Tony is in one of his brain cramp episoces, give Pruitt a min or two. They must coach, I must watch and I’m loving it but Man I can’t see this pace continuing. In fact I have to pinch myself that I’m even saying this. What an amazing miracle Danny has pulled off.
