Unbelievable!

Amazing steal (House knocked it away, Pierce grabbed it) and clutch shot by Ray Allen wins it for the Celtics.  Crazy, crazy ending.

i havent been that hyped about an ending with a steal since,—-you know when, oh i am guessing that was in 86.

by drumadicy on Nov 24, 2007 9:43 PM EST reply actions

My wife heard me yell and thought I was having a heart attack.

They may not have deserved it, but what an ending.

Ray KILLED the Charlotte and the fans. Everybody was stunned… And we wondered why he was called the silent assassin…

WOW! That’s what great teams do. Win the close ones. Wow…

by liam on Nov 24, 2007 9:55 PM EST reply actions

Talk about snatching victory from the jaws of defeat! Kudos to House for the deflection, Pierce for taking the time to recognize the open Allen rather than throwing up a prayer, and of course to Allen for the dagger. What an amazing ending!

Called my daughter own to watch the replay. Totally psyched!! I knew it was going in before he shot the ball. Ray was due.

Back to no. 1 in ESPN power rankings on Monday.

Darn! Missed it! U-Verse doesn’t offer a sports package down here in Texas that includes the Celts.
Had to follow the box score on ESPN internet.

my favorite part was when they showed jrich on the floor almost crying, gotta love it.

Eddie House is way better than Rondo. Thank you for the steal Eddie !

by Champzilla on Nov 24, 2007 10:19 PM EST reply actions

The Celtics were lucky that Gerald Wallace didn’t play.

by Brickowski on Nov 24, 2007 10:22 PM EST reply actions

Some bizarre comments. Lots of hyperbole.

‘’PP you stunk tonight.’’ He threw up a couple of bad shots down the stretch, but also had some nice assists, including a very heads-up pass to Allen for the winner.

‘’Eddie House is way better than Rondo.’’ Comparing House and Rondo doesn’t even make sense. One is a playmaker and the other is a spot shooter. Besides, why do you have to insult one to compliment the other?

‘’The Celtics are lucky that Gerald Wallace didn’t play.‘’ Good for you, Brick. As usual, you have a magic ball that let’s you see what will be and what could have been.

Overall, the negativity after an amazing finish is baffling. It’s like you people have been comditioned to complaining so much over the last few years that you can’t even find joy in victory. Or maybe it’s just the Boston mentality. Either way, I hope you enjoy wallowing in your misery.

My kitten hasnt come NEAR me since the RA shot. Like Jeff, I also screamed and generally aped out when it went through.

by dobbs on Nov 24, 2007 10:42 PM EST reply actions

League Pass blacked me out. Live in South Carolina – just two hours from Charlotte. Bobcat owners not making points with me. Happens every time we play the “kittycats”. But as long as we win, I can live with it! ;D

Most people on this board are whiners and complainers. I dont know what’s happened here (to this site) but it certainly is different and I don’t mean for the better.

Great win by the Celts!!

Celtics just ripped the Cats… Allen hit the important shot, missed the rest ;)

Best ending since the Milt Palacio game winner!

by Maxwell Smart on Nov 24, 2007 10:54 PM EST reply actions

you need to win games like this to win in the playoffs, e.g.you need to know how to make something out of nothing. while ray is showing his age by missing a lot of his shots, they are asking a lot from him. covering kobe last night, and felton tonight. posey, house, and pollard are not close to being great nba players, but they have been there and know what to do without losing their heads. pollard lumbers, but seems to get to the right spot on the floor.the greatest that the c’s ever did was to come back against philly in 1981, when they were down 3 to 1, and behind in every game they won. while not as important as that, tonight can be a forerunner to that 1981, type of c’s team.

I got my wish tonight… I wish the Celtics will win this game by 1, and I’ll take it… Looks ugly but a win is a win…

HOUSE STOLE DA BALL!!!….

by Cry Baby on Nov 24, 2007 11:10 PM EST reply actions

Just got back to the booming metropolis of Albemarle from the game. We played horribly and really deserved to lose. My 9-year-old son said it best, “It doesn’t matter who wins or loses, but how they played the game. We played bad but still won the game anyway:-))” He also said “that all the Bobcats’ fans can go home and cry themselves to sleep!:-))))” Words of wisdom from my little man.

Perhaps PP looked out of sync due to our brilliant coach playing him over 44 minutes the night before when he really didn’t have to:-(((

Incredible job by House, Pierce and Ray at the end!! The Cats may have had their largest crowd ever!!! I saw a LOT of C’s fans:-))

Rock on C’s!!

Peace,

Smitty

Cousin It, Boston fans are never satisfied. I wasn’t being negative by saying House had a bigger part in that win than Rondo. This site is great because of the different views, either positive or negative reactions.

by Champzilla on Nov 24, 2007 11:18 PM EST reply actions

Maybe some folks will finally start believing the Eddie House is a pretty good defender.

by Brickowski on Nov 24, 2007 11:24 PM EST reply actions

They stole one — which good teams tend to do on the road. And star players can have awful nights — and make up for it with one huge shot. That’s part of what makes them stars.

What a game.

‘’The Celtics are lucky that Gerald Wallace didn’t play.’’

what about bobcats are lucky ray shot 4-15 and 1-6 from 3. you think that will happen often? we didnt’ play well and still won. i don’t see anything wrong with that.

by celtsfan907 on Nov 25, 2007 12:26 AM EST reply actions

You want to see complainers, give me a 24 W season and a #5 Lotto ball. You want to see the Energizer bunny: Ray Allen’s game winning 3 at the buzzer.

Boo-yah Ray! Way to go baby! Gotta love it! Hoo-hah!!!

Kudos to Cousin for his comment. It would not be difficult to enjoy what we have instead of whining for what we don’t.

I scared one dog and one cat. The other cat doesn’t come near me when the C’s are on.

Ray Allen is Havlicek-like. In the post game interview he was hardly sweating and seemed like he was just on a leisurely walk. He wasn’t even breathing hard. I just love this guy and only wish he were here sooner.
