Powerful Rankings
Pounding Washington to muzzle Arenas and scraping an OT victory in Toronto is not just a good start. It's a good start that happens to come with the bonus of six home games in the next nine.

We’re #5 on NBA.com:
Off: 106.2 (16), Def: 90.9 (1) — Never mind the Big Three. The Celtics are the best defensive team in the league. And they’ve played two of last season’s top 10 offenses.
And #5 on SI.com as well:
Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen didn’t take long to start paying dividends. Garnett racked up 22 points and 20 boards in their opening win over the Wizards, while Allen bagged the game-winning three-pointer in OT to beat the Raptors.
2 is way too high tbh… It’s funny I used to hate the fact the celtic’s got absolutley no recognition on espn (apart from bill simmons), but now i think it’s just way too over-the-top.

Lovely, a comment on Stephen Jackson’s captaincy that wasn’t a shot against the man.
If anyone’s still wondering why Stephen Jackson was entrusted with the Warriors’ captaincy, you’ll note that they’ve looked absolutely lost without him in the first three games of Jack’s seven-game suspension.
Well done Stevie!
Is it just me or does anyone else notice, we get KG and Sweetness and we are 2-0. We trade our youth/pick to Minny and Seattle and they are a combined 0-5.
Kowinkee- Dinkee (coincidence), I think not!

Now way with this line-up we are going to sneak up on anyone, so we might as well get recognized! I think 2 is a little high as well, but we should be presently considered top 5. It is all a guess this early anyway.
Toronto was a good win though. We should get credit for that. Washington was good only because we blew them out. Had it been close it wouldn’t have been a good thing.
bceltfan – Nice observation. I was noticing the same. I think 3-4 years down the road they will both be good teams. I was tired of waiting 3-4 years down the road…
As far as Stephen Jackson being a captain, if you are going to put that mantle on a guy like that you deserve what you get. Never trust a thug to lead you into battle. He’ll just do something stupid when things are at their most critical.
Ratings are okay. But the “experts” always seem to go overboard with praise and criticism. That’s how they justify
their existence. If the opposition’s field goal pct stays low, I like the Cs chances most every night.
