KG getting early All-star love
Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics and LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers lead the Eastern Conference, while Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers and Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets lead Western Conference players after the first returns of 2008 NBA All-Star Balloting presented by T-Mobile. ...
While Garnett leads all players with 735,664 votes, Cleveland’s James – the 2007 top vote recipient – follows Garnett at the forward spot in the East with 597,768 votes, the second-highest overall tally. The Orlando Magic’s Dwight Howard leads Eastern Conference centers (596,187), with the Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade (470,921) and the New Jersey Nets’ Jason Kidd (342,468) pacing the conference’s guards.
Paul Pierce is fourth on the list of forwards (behind KG, Lebron, and Bosh) and Ray Allen is fourth among guards (behind Wade, Kidd, and Carter.)

I know, I know, it’s for the fans, so who should even care about All-Star selections, right? Nevertheless, I take issue with …
a) 2nd team center behind Dwight Howard, who has been the best player in the East so far. Shaq has been subpar, so I’d give it to Zydrunas or Bogut.
b) At the forwards, it should be KG and LeBron. I can see Bosh as a reserve or Pierce, but Caron Butler should go ahead of either of those two.
c) Wade (he’s rounding into form) and Chauncey Billups should start at the guards. Back-ups are Kidd and Michael Redd. Ray Allen’s numbers at this point are down, especially shooting %.
In the West, first team is:
Yao
Duncan
Nowitzki
Kobe
Parker
2nd team:
Stoudemire
Boozer
Anthony
Davis
