Pruitt in, Pollard out
Steve Bulpett checks in from Celtics practice :
Scot Pollard (back) was not at practice and will not play tomorrow night. …
With practice bodies dwindling, Gabe Pruitt will be brought back from the NBA Development League.
In other news, Perk is still questionable for tomorrow night's game, and Ray Allen missed practice for precautionary reasons related to his ankle.

Is pollard going to be someone we can count on this season? I think not. This needs to be addressed by the team. There are games when you just flat out need to have some length out there. Maybe they should have brought Wallace up instead of Pruitt. He could chase Yi around and hack Villinawava.
Looking forward to seeing BBD in action again on Friday.
The frailty of Scott Pollard ….
Time to look for another big.
The complete lack of confidence in Powe (and lack of ability) is on show right now. Powe is an empty jersey who’s only good for practices, we need another big man to cover this hole. Powe simply cannot.
Meanwhile Brian Skinner is ballin’ out in Phoenix … not a lot of bodies out there right now
Everybody should be frustrated with Pollard. He is Perk’s back-up and can’t go when needed. Maybe he’s too brittle, maybe he’s too laid back to get in/stay in shape. But at 18-2 I’m not 2nd guessing Danny and Co. They’ll do what’s gotta be done.
I do not think that Leon is a bum. He’s a role player and was not out of his league last night.
Pollard gets love by being in the right place at the right time. Dude has been a scrub since his playing days in Sacto. Just lucky to be player #14 on a couple of deep playoff teams. Other than that, he’s completely useless. In an offseason full of outstanding moves (house, posey, bbd), this one was awful. I’m ready for the B Wallace experiment to start.
Pollard Out is really a misnomer. How can you be “out” when you have never really been “in”?
Mad Hatter: Would you like a little more tea?
Alice: Well, I haven’t had any yet, so I can’t very well take more.
March Hare: Ah, you mean you can’t very well take less.
Mad Hatter: Yes. You can always take more than nothing.
I don’t see the point in bringing up Pruitt. Big men is where we are lacking right now, and Brandon Wallace can’t play or practice either because of an injury so he’s no help either.

I agree nazzbo, even if we only get a big, middling lug that can eat space and get out of the way at the right moments, I’ll be happy with that

Wouldn’t the identity of that person be Pollard?

It’s early yet. To me, Pollard looks better than Perkins, which isn’t saying a whole lot, but he’ll have his time.

I was against the Pollard sigining from the very beginning and posted his injury history over the last 4 years. He has played in fewer games each season. there’s still time for him to get helthy and help us and I suppose that for the money he was the best big man available but he is injury prone and I saw this coming. Perk also has missed games every year so we clearly need help at the center position.
Remember, all, Brandon Wallace is on the shelf for another week or two with a wrist injury, so he wasn’t an option.

What this does mean, I believe, is that Pruitt can only be sent back down to the D-League one more time this season.
They have more room for 1 roster spot and they could also make a trade in February. If Pollard was healthy I would not be concerned but they do need someone 7 ft and can rebound in injury situations like we have now. If they are not going to play Powe in these situations and I would like to to see him have the chance to prove himself. He can handle the other backup players and I believe he is better then most other teams backup players in rebounding and does well on defense against the 2nd tier players.
