Pistons Trade Mohammed To Cats
The Pistons traded Nazr Mohammed to the Bobcats for Prezec and Hermann. Either Nazr or Prezec would look nice backing up Perk, but the C's just don't have the kind of matching deals to get stuff like that done. Matt Watson has updates at Detroit Bad Boys.
Above and beyond what Joe Dumars thinks of these two players, it’s hard not to think money wasn’t a factor: Nazr has three years left on his deal after this season; Hermann and Brezec, meanwhile, are free agents at the end of the season.

Okur played quality defense in Detroit and has been an underrated defender in Utah.
I’m not sure about Brezec. Nice guy, some interesting skills … but he seems too one dimensional and have weaknesses which are just too sizeable to overcome (soft, interior D, rebounding top the list). His weaknesses are flaws which creep in and out of Detroit already (since Flip and then Big Ben) ….. that worries me for Detroit. He’s an interesting guy but he doesn’t really fit the Pistons M.O. …. does fit Flip Saunders though so maybe …
I like Hermann for Detroit as long as he doesn’t take Affalo’s minutes. Affalo is an exceptional defender (Walter is a very good defender but Affalo looks something special). He’ll help Detroit.
Love Nazr for Charlotte in the short term. Really underrated big man that solves a lot of holes in that side. He’ll help them in a big way.
The money was the deciding factor, easily pushes everything else aside. It saves Joe D so much money and gives him so much flexibility … and it will hurt Charlotte in a big way down the road
