Gasol To The Bulls?
No, this is not a rumor, but I'm just trying to help Matt at Blog-a-Bull prove his point that anyone can break make up a rumor like Sam Smith and watch with amusement as it rattles through the blogosphere.
Underperforming? Getting booed? Unassertive? Bad jumpshooting and passing?
This guy needs to be a Bull.
So I broke open the "Lil' Sam Smith Home Journalism Kit" (with a replica sweater-vest just like the kind my man Sam wears!) that I received this Christmas, and will now use it to start a rumor that gets Pau Gasol in Chicago.

Well the sentiment here in Memphis is that the Griz are better without him. Not sure how true that is, but it’s definitely believed by the few Griz fans left.
Hard to believe that ‘Darko’ is actually more of a fan favorite than Gasol, crazy. Memphis is a basketball crazy town, and they recognize good basketball from bad. Gasol right now is very bad.
If Chicago really wants him, now’s the time. Griz probably selling him for .50 on the dollar.
to finish the rumor..it should be pointed out that the Griz get Scott Skiles in return…

Gasol to the Bulls actually makes alot of sense— for both teams. The question is what the Bulls would be willing to send to the Grizz along with Ben Wallace. The Grizz don’t really need Deng, because they have Gay and Warrick.
It makes no sense for the Grizzlies
Why in the world would they want Ben Wallace and his mega-deal on a 20-25 win team?
Gasol is better than anything Chicago have.
What use is a defensive big man if they have no big men who can score 6 points? It’s suicidal.
Just play Conley. They need a guard with some passing skills and creativity. Their play will pick up immediately. Then work on trading Darko because that hasn’t worked out. Then start adding defenders on the perimeter because only Rudy Gay plays above average defense out there and that’s killing them.
‘Who’ — i’m not sure if you’re watching any Griz games or not, but Rudy Gay plays no defense, same with Gasol. And if Gasol isn’t scoring 25-30 a night, then he’s completely useless. Even as poorly as they’re playing, I’d rather have Gordon or Deng on this Griz team right now.
The Griz are trying to become a fast break team a la Phoenix, they just can’t do that with Gasol.
Rudy is a stud on offense, but needs improving on the defensive end.

Not many. In the one’s I have, I’ve seen Rudy Gay play defense. He’s definitely a capable defender. Sad to hear that he hasn’t been doing it on a regular basis. Think he’d improve with other defenders around him? I do.
Gasol isn’t a top tier big man but he’s better than most in the league and he’s very useful. If you give him up ….. how are you going to replace him? He’s a 20-9 and two blocks guy if he’s used right. He’s also a ready passer that you can run your offense through. How many teams in this league have a better big man than Pau Gasol? 10? Rare skills and they shouldn’t be throw aside.
I don’t think Iavaroni will ever run like Phoenix. I just don’t think he has it in him. Too many days under Riley and Sloan.
I’d honestly rather have Navarro than Ben Gordon. At least Navarro knows his limitations and accepts his role. You want to pay Ben Gordon 65m on top of that horrid Ben Wallace contract? Memphis would be stuck winning 25-30 games for the next 4 years.
Deng is very good but not as valuable as Gasol. I’d trade Rudy Gay for Deng. Not Gasol. Not Conley either. Anyone else.
CelticRebel I think you’re probably right on Rudy Gay’s defense.
It’s been awful tonight. Legs too stationary, hands aren’t active, stands too far away from the player he’s defending allowing the offensive player all the choices in the world. Missed a bunch of rotations. Been lazy contesting shots.
I must have seen the inspired Rudy Gay in the past. San An twice, Houston, Portland are the other games I’ve seen of him this year and he looked solid defensively in those games. Clearly that’s not a consistent thing.
So the Grizzlies have no perimeter defenders.
