Great news. After last nights game I was thinking that he really deserved to get Player of the Week again.

Too bad Pierce has a “hero complex” or else he’d been a pretty good player. :D :D :D

Question is how many of these does PP need to get before fans outside of Boston notice?

by Silverlock on Dec 31, 2007 6:25 PM EST reply actions

As a huge PP fan since he first was drafted, I have taken a personal pleasure in watching him grow as a player and lifelong Celtic. As with all of us who walk the earth, we make mistakes. Even the NBA’s leading All Star vote getter, our very own, beloved KG, makes me pull my hair out when he is 2 feet from the basket with the ball in his hands and doesn’t take it hard to the rim.

I know there have been many on this blog over the past years who have called for PP’s head. Now that he has some ‘class’ help, and doesn’t need to carry the weight of the Celtic legend on his back all alone, I’m hoping that some of you have changed your opinion of him. In my eyes, PP is a classic Celtic.

Well, I’m asking each and every one of the readers of this blog to take this opportunity to give PP a push on NBA.com and vote EVERY DAY for the All Star ballot. You can vote once every 24 hours right here:

http://www.nba.com/allstar2008/asb/eng/ballot.html

Give our very own PP all the support he deserves along with Ray Allen and of course, KG.

If someone can hyperlink the NBA ballot site, please do so to make it easier to reach. Otherwise, just copy and paste the link from this message into your browser.

Thanks.
Best of Health to all Celtic Family members for the coming New Year.

Go PP, you deserve it.

Vote PP to start the allstar game. How could the best scorer on the best team in the NBA not get the allstar start?

All star team? Let’s start the push for MVP…Garnett has seemingly had this award wrapped up from the start of this season, however right now Pierce is the go to guy on this team. Of course, Garnett is the heart and sould and arguably does a lot more than Pierce, but I think that is a discredit to Pierce. The TRUTH is doing a lot more than scoring out there for this team, and his defense has really picked up this year. If I had to vote for the MVP of the Boston Celtics right now, my vote would go to Pierce.

I am so Happy we did not have to trade paul. nor considered it as others had advocated. In Hind sight, Getting the fifth pick in last years draft was the removal of our draft. Paul deserves the award. Is there a player of the month? id so it should be Paul Pierce as well.

Pierce is and will always be the man.
He earned it so much and deserved such notice.

he deserved the honor this week. his skills have not eroded and he also leads the big three in mins. played. his free throw shooting has improved- he’s taking more time at the line- getting himself set.

Silverlock, forget outside of Boston: there are many fans IN BOSTON not noticing how good PP is…and this is really sad.

You can’t be posting things like this, Jeff. It’s a health risk to JB.

I shudder to think what will happen when Pierce actually starts getting MVP considerations. First, Doc bashing was proven to be all-for-naught. Now, the Pierce haters days’ are numbered. Though, I contend, they never should have a “day” to begin with.

Are you serious about this? If so, you are wrong. PP is an intense, passionate player who only wants to win. He has always provided what the team needed, especially now that he has help. Only this year has he been able to play the kind of basketball he is capable of playing. I don’t get why so many people have the wrong impression of PP.

because people see a guy take alot of shots on a abd team and assume he’s a ballhog and selfish. they never stop to consider that you know, he HAS to play that way since he has little talent around him.

amazing how these guys trun around once they get someone to play with. another one of these is AI, who when traded everyone said “great a selfish scorer who never passes” he averages 8 assists a game now, and that team, while not elite is way ahead of where it would be if it was melo and no one.
