Practice Makes Perfect
The Celtics had a rare practice today. Scott Souza has the notes and quotes:
"(We were able to) clean up some things, get back our execution," said Paul Pierce. "I think we’ve been slipping a little bit offensively and defensively so it was good just get back on the practice court.
"Just the little things," he added, "complete execution, setting screens, making the extra passes, finding open guys - things like that. I think we have been getting away from those things. It was good for our guys to see some of the things we have been getting away from and to go over it today."

Not that I agree with Allen, but his whole thing was not as toxic as anyone thinks it was who never actually saw the press conference.
Yes I am GRATEFUL we didn’t get him. I just thought anyone who hadn’t seen it should watch it. There are other versions too
I agree wahz. Never thought that that was a big deal at all. The guy was banged up and and thought that a day off late in the season would benefit him more than running through a practice that day.
There is no question that the guy plays hard and would get banged up over the course of a season.
Anyone who thinks AI got to where he is today without practicing is not very …….HMMMM…….well theyre just not very.
That said. I’m glad hes not here right now. But I would have taken him over another year like last year.
no kidding said:
….Here in the regular season, I’m glad Pierce is fully aware there’s room for improvement, and the direction in which it lies.
At the players press conference after every game, both PIERCE and KG both say the team needs to improve on everything. PP is fully aware that the C’s are nowhere near where they need to be. This isn’t about individuals, it’s about the team.
Whales, look at the above quote from Pierce. Do you see the part where he says “it was good to just get back on the practice court”? In literature, that’s what we call a ‘clue.’ It suggests to the reader that in the strict sense, no, there isn’t “a regular practice regime.”
But don’t feel bad. There are no dumb questions.
Sorry no kidding. I misread your post. This type of comment from the players is great. They really aren’t playing that well and they’re 14-2. Their bench has been the hero, especially after very early reports that we had no bench. It will be scary when they do get to know each other better on the court. They are probably thinking too much right now, trying to do the right thing. Once it becomes more instinctive, watch out.
