Good game by a vet team. Good lift from the bench. The Cs are solid. Come on Toronto!

Although the Celts need to win games like this by 30 to keep our stars’ minutes down, it was a litmus test that proved we are in the NBA elite. Philly led during the first half because they played out of their shoes. The Celts won because they were just that much better.

You know what they say. The sign of a good team is how they finish. Crappy teams like the Sixers are the epitome of a “start out fast finish badly” team. Simply because they suck. In my opinion, both Philly and Boston moved the ball efficiently on offense, but Boston had their way tonight behind the arc. James Posey made a couple improbable three’s that you see go in like 10% of the time. Again, nice win, certainly one they had no excuses to lose, and I hope they get rest because Friday against Toronto won’t be a particularly easy matchup.

Prettiest thing — Scal’s two minutes of PT. Just like it should be.

Here’s an encouraging excerpt from the NBA’s Recap writeup of the game. “Pierce scolded a couple of teammates in the locker room who having too much fun and screaming to some music before the game. "We’re trying to play a game,’’ he said. The two players got quiet. … Pierce said the additions of Garnett and Allen mean he no longer has to play the role of big brother. He said last year he spent too much time telling his younger teammates what to do, where to go, what to eat, how to dress.”
Good for you, Paul. Be the captain.
Would we have dared to hope for a 50 win season? Well, we only have to go 35-30 the rest of the way.
I just cannot believe how Danny pulled this franchise back from the ping-pong ball letdown. From getting the stars, signing House/Posey/Pollard and drafting Big Baby as his 2nd 2nd-rounder. I think we’ll hear also from Pruitt and Wallace. Just amazing.
