Jason Kidd Pulling A Vince Carter?
Kidd sat out last night's game and some are raising their eyebrows. Adrian Wojnarowski states:
There was no migraine headache holding Jason Kidd out of the New Jersey Nets' loss to the New York Knicks Wednesday night, but a superstar sending a message to a floundering franchise that he's irate with management and teammates, several league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
As the Nets flew back to New Jersey late Tuesday from a victory over Cleveland, sources said Kidd already had decided he would be sitting out against the Knicks in the Meadowlands. Kidd didn't tell Nets officials until Wednesday afternoon, but several people inside and outside the organization were made aware of the meaning behind his sick day.
Kidd's agent, Jeff Schwartz, isn't believed to have formally demanded a trade, but Wednesday's bold act could be the precursor to starting that process. Two sources said Kidd has been a constant text messaging partner with LeBron James since playing with him this summer on Team USA and that the Cavaliers are his preferred destination.

I’m not sure how Cleveland could pull the deal off, but I can tell you that I’d be terrified if they do. Kidd isn’t much of a shooter, so in a lot of ways he’d be an odd fit at PG for a team where everyone collapses off the main scorer, but Kidd’s good enough that I’m not sure it would matter. It would be a significant upgrade for a team like that, I hope this is all made up.

NJ have to blow up that team. They should have done it two years ago. They simply are not good enough and they are throwing away Jason Kidd’s career in the process.
Cavs can’t get him. LA will only get him if NJ is willing to take Odom alone (maybe Kwame too). Dallas has nothing substantial to offer and they can’t get him either. I can’t see any trade that will make any sense for NJ (that Kidd would accept) except cap space. They’ll be luck to get 15c on the dollar for Kidd.
He’s too old to get anything big back in a trade. They’ll be lucky to get a mid level prospect in return.
Maybe he was sick…playing with Carter (who takes every other play off) would make me sick.

I completely agree with the previous poster who said that they need to blow up this team. They’ve gone with their own “big 3” of Kidd, Carter, and Jefferson for way too long. If it hasn’t produced them a championship yet, it never will. They’re kinda stuck now though considering they just signed Vince Carter to a big deal over this past offseason.
not a snowballs chance thorn moves him in the conference.
Houston, Dallas (Avery wanted him in the summer), Lakers, and Denver are the only players here.

I’ll agree to disagree- I’ll take Kidd, Jefferson, Carter and Krstic over the top 4 Raptors in a heartbeat.
Well if they complemented each other in any way, shape or form I could understand the argument.
The situation becomes even worse when you take into account the rest of the roster and the decisions made by Lawrence Frank since attaining Carter (the destruction of their motion offense which he has brought back somewhat this year).
Kidd is the best fast break point guard in the league and he’s running it with RJ and no-one else. That’s how poorly constructed a side it is. Go through every part of that team, they can’t function as a unit.
I’d take the Raps with Bosh, TJ, Calderon and whoever (Bargnani) every day of the week. They make each other better.
Seems to me Kidd was a free agent a few years ago and had lots of options. He decided to stay in Jersy (stupid), got paid, and now he shoves his thumb in his mouth and wants to leave. What a chump. While I have admired his play, I always thought he was a dip. I hope that him watching what the Celtics did in the off season had a big impact on his little pitty party. It must suck for him seeing us vault way past them on the talent scale. It sooo fun to be good again!!!
I think that if NJ is committed to rebuilding, they should trade Kidd and Carter together in a deal. I agree that CLE doesn’t seem to have the pieces to make a trade for Kidd, unless they get lucky if Thorn agrees to take on Hughes’s terrible contract.
