Wow. The local media can’t even get it right. How pathetic.
One word. Inexcusable.

Note to Herald editors. Tony Allen looks like Avon Barksdale from HBO’s “The Wire”

It took TA forever to come back from the minor knee injury he sustained in the summer of 2005. Until the very end of last year, it looked like he’d never get his lift back, and for him, lift/explosiveness is all-important.
His present knee injury is about as major as it gets. I for one doubt that he’ll be back for training camp, and I doubt he’ll ever be the player he was. I hope I’m wrong, but objectively I just don’t see it happening.
We should trade for a replacement defensive stopper, or consider using our round #2 draft pick for that purpose.

I’d guess it’d be about a two-thirds into the 2007-2008 season before we see glimpses of the old Tony. Trouble is, he’ll be passed on the depth chart at that point, and likely won’t get a chance to get in games, get his confidence up and prove himself.

If anything the past knee injury will help him to get through this one. When he came back last jan. (or so) his knee was fine, it was his head that was messed up. he didnt think he could do it cause of the pain in his knee (which is normal when first returning), once he realized his knee was strong and healthy, he got is old form back (end of last year). He now know’s what to expect during the rehap and during the first stages of his return to action. he just has to trust his knee once it get’s healthy, something he didnt start doing until the end of last year. I got faith in Tony’s return.
