Pierce To Start Practicing

Bulpett reports:

Paul Pierce shot around before tonight’s game and reports he’ll be back practicing tomorrow and hopes to be playing some time this week.

Pierce has been out since late December with a left foot stress reaction, but he said the pain is gone. In that tomorrow’s practice will be very light and not entail any contact, the bigger test will come Sunday.

For now, the captain appears to be back to his trash-talking ways. He was ribbing his mates as he moved around the court taking shots.

1 win a week gets the C’s the #1 pick… and I don’t think even Pierce can get more than that.

I hope to god that he is 100% .

I hope he decides to go home for the remainder of the season. ;D

we will get our first win being carried on the back of the truth…write that down

He’ll come back to dispel the rumors that the Celtics are really trying hard to throw in the towel. However, give it 2 weeks in and he’ll be “out” again. At least the league can’t say they didn’t try.

With the luck of the Celtics, they will have one of the league’s worst two records but end up without a top 1-2 pick. We should definitely trade a lottery protected pick plus West and Gerald Green for Gasol.
Green’s dunk tonight was ridiculous but his b-ball IQ is very low.

It’s worse than that. We will get the first pick but neither Oden nor Durant will come out.

As former Philadelphia 76er Derrick Coleman once said famously, “Well, whoop-de-damn-do.”

I’m so sick of losing…

I’m sorry but i can’t take so many losses: I can’t wait to see Pierce back and give us back some respect. I hope he comes back vs the nets

At this Point, only Coleman’s comment makes any sense at all, “Whoop-de-damn-do!”…Thanks Big_Easy!, My thoughts exactly!
To tell you the “Truth”, I’m more worried about Perkins than I am Paul’s “stress reaction.” I know that sounds crazy and I know that I see something in Perk that others don’t see, but he’s a man-child with strength both of body and character…It would be a horrible pity to see him wash out over this miserable fasciitis…
Also, I wonder what Paul’s return will mean to the starting point situation…It’s looking more and more like Rondo’s our future…As I type things come to me…Rondo, West, Pierce (3), Gomes and Al…But, then again, I’m thinking rebounds and paint…We’ll see (said the blind legion)…

I know Pierce wants to come in and act as a tourniquet, but I wonder why he needs to basically make a 2 game cameo before the all-star break. I guess if he’s fully healthy there’s no reason to keep him out. It’s not even definite that his first few games back will provide any difference in the win column.

great…we’ll be good enough to get a 5th-7th pick….If that’s our plan, we better get serious about landing Gasol now.

..I wanted to see PP returning, I was just hoping it to be late March or early April

…have you seen Milwaukee lately?…they might sneak in the Oden/Durant sweepstakes

by cocofan on Feb 3, 2007 11:15 AM EST reply actions

No long term good can come from this. This year has been horrid but winning too many games would make it even worse. The team and fans would have suffered for nothing.

so sad when Boston Celtics fans are talking about how many losses we need this year. What a sad sad state of affairs
