agree with Brickowski’s take on this re: telfair and also that Wally / PP are back. Really a no brainer for a move. Give him some burn especially with the schedule coming up that leaves very little room for practice.

I think that Ray could use some time in the D League. He will get major minutes down there, and may even get some burn at the point. It could help him a lot. Sitting on the bench is maddening at any level.

Is it better to rot on the Doc’s bench when you can actually play ( I am speaking of PO(we) in this case) or go to D League, travel less than first class in airlines, food and hotel accomodations, and HOPE somebody remembers you are down there??
I don’t know as that is a tough call.
However….. I do know this:
Considering our record, and considering how far back we are in the standings, it makes absolute ZERO sense to playing Scali everynight when we already know what he can do, and what he cannot do (and there is alot more he can’t do) so we should be playing PO(we)!!!!! Let him show what he can do with consistent minutes over the rest of the season. This crazy stupid stupid approach makes we want to scream.
Is there anybody who sees the sense in this? If there please explain it to me.
As for Allen Ray in D League – ehhhhh whatever.
I would give Gome’s playing time to Powe. Then we won’t be able to complain that Doc isn’t playing Powe. Then we could have people complaining that Doc isn’t playing Gomes. So what we should probably do is send PP down to the D League (I know they can’t do this) so those who want to trade PP can be happy. Is there not one thing that Doc can do right? I know the answer so just ignore. Anyway, I’ve been seeing that all we’ll have next year as far as money to spend on a free agent, if we were to go that way, is the 5 mill exception. I thought that we still have Baker and Brian Grant’s contracts counting on our salary cap. Won’t they be coming off next year? Just figured out why Ray is going to the D League. We’re tanking the season so we can get Oden who is the next Bill Russell, guaranteed.

Being serious, I don’t think Powe has a future with this team. Playing Scals does make sense. To me the purpose of this entire season and especially what remains of it is to develop our young players. We have so many of them on the court at the same time and they are all making different mistakes. It’s hard for each to develop that way. Scals is a vet who is a smart player. If we can have three vets on the floor with
two young guys, say Al and Green, the three vets can at least be telling Al and Green where they need to be or to take a shot, etc. I know this isn’t a good combo (no pg), but the thought is to have fewer inexperienced players on the floor at the same time and concentrate on improving one or two at a time. Scals recognizes defenses, he knows when and where and how to set a pick. He’s on the floor for his basketball IQ, not his skills, most of which go unnoticed by we, including me, who don’t know the nuances of the game. Don’t forget, Scals was the only qualified vet available to play when PP and Wally were out. (Let’s not forget what TA gives to this team). It’s possible that Scals will play less now that PP and Wally (not so sure) are back.
The Cs are making this move because having both Ray Allen and Allan Ray on the roster would be too confusing for Doc…
