"They Are Going To Win A Game Sometime"
Detroit Bad Boys | Game Thread | Chat Room
Ian from Detroit Bad Boys explains that the Celtics have the Pistons right where they want them. And he has the quotes from Coach Flip to prove it. Allow me to retort.
...yeah, right.
In other news, ESPN is taking notice of our situation. PTI ranted about it shortly and the Daily Dish discussed the Celtics at length (Marc Stein stopped just short of calling Pierce's injuries exaggerated).Â

The record for one season is 23, held by the Grizz (1995-96, team finished 11-71) and the Nuggets (1997-98, team finished 15-67). The overall consecutive loss record is 24, held by the Cavs, but the Cavs did it over a span of two seasons (81-82 and 82-83). Those two Cleveland teams finished 15-67 and 23-59.
Orlando lost 19 straight the year Rivers was fired, with Rivers responsible for 12 of those losses, and Johnny Davis losing the other 7.
An interesting question is how many consecutive losses it would take for Rivers to be fired. My guess is that it doesn’t matter, since neither Grousbeck nor Ainge seems capabel of admitting that he made a mistake. Everything is attributed to youth or bad luck.
Whenever I think of Rivers, I’m reminded of ee cummings’ line: “a salesman is an it that stinks excuse.”
SportsCenter just showed a feature on the Celtics’ ineptitude leading into a discussion with Schlereth and Legler about tanking in the NFL and NBA.
Legler when asked if there was tanking in the NBA: “Absolutely not”
Good call, Mark Madsen is right there with you, idiot.

A “W” for the Cs tonight, not in the cards. Amazing how Doc can talk about players needing to “earn” their minutes. At one point does a losing coach no longer “earn” the right to coach this team?

The losing streak will and should end on Valentine’s Day with the Bucks.

Agree with Stein, Pierce’s injury a little too convenient. Out of the clear blue this happens when he’s ready to play again. I know Pierce is a warrior but something just doesn’t seem to add up. What the heck, ping pong balls are ping pong balls.

And there’s Linda Rhonstadt at tonights game pointing to our huddle during a timeout in the 3rd Q and she’s singing, You’re no good, you’re no good, baby you’re no good. Well, see if I buy a greatest hits CD from that has been.

Well nyfan, there’s the old joke about the man who went to the lecture on male sexuality conducted by a famous therapist. There were quite a few men there.
At one point the therapist asks, “OK, how many of you make love to your wives every night?” A smattering of men, mostly in their 20’s, raise their hands.
“Ok, how may of you make love 2-3 times a week?” More hands
“Once per week?” More hands
“Once per month?” a smattering of hands.
“Once per year?” A few old geezers raise their hands.
“Ok, how about once every ten years?” At this point a man in the back starts waving his hands wildly, jumping up and down and yelling “me, me!!”
“Ok the therapist asks, but why are you so excited”
The man replies, “Tonight’s the night! Tonight’s the night!”
That guy must have been a Celtics fan.
Marc Stein stopped just short of calling Pierce’s injuries exaggerated).
Well why wouldn’t he? I mean 95% of the fans on this site are saying the same thing, with no discouragement.
In the meantime Paul Pierce sits in a hospital, probably hooked up to an IV getting antibiotic treatments, after getting his elbow drained once again, exactly what I’m sure he wants to be doing tonight, and the so called Celtics faithful are auditioning for Saturday Night Live segments at his expense.
Pitiful.
