Doc does not like Rondo and West as starting guards. Must be in the minority Doc. They play well together and both had good games last night. What is there not to like about playing them together? Fire Doc and hire a coach, WYC.

I love it…we are laying down a base(excuse) for PP’s season ending injury…..I expect to see PP taking the rest of the season off very soon.

I hope nobody else bothered to read that Burnt Orange Nation thing. The last sentence managed to take away the article’s entire credibility so much so that it almost wasn’t even funny. Everything is bigger in Texas, including mistakes.

I don’t particularly agree with the Hoopsworld article. She seems to think that Wally is very important to our success while I think TA had a lot more to do with our earlier success than Wally did.

Both of the Celtics vs. Bulls comparisons seem to suggest that the Bulls are in a better position than the Cs because they did a better job drafting; i.e. they had the wisdom to draft “experienced” players. Seems a little unfair when nearly all of their young players are top 10 picks, while ours are 16th and below.

Dont forget in appraising our guards, that we have a guy named Tony who was an extremely valuable commodity at the time he got hurt. IF he comes back healthy, we have a SG that can defend and drive to the basket and ascore. He doesnt have a 3 point shot; but he has everything else. IF Tony comes back healthy, I assume we will have 5 guards (Tony, Ray, West, Bassy, Rondo) way too many. You cant really call Tony a SF – so some cuts or trades will have to be considered. Since all 5 players have qualities not common to the rest of that combo, compromises will be the order of the day. IMO, I would keep Tony (if), West, Ray and Rondo to fill both guard positions. Keep Ray over Bassy because he can be instant offense; if just for that. GG is miles away from being instant offense. He seems to be having a very hard time creating his own offense. he needs a Clifford Ray type of coach that will take him under his wing. The the team also has to develop plays where GG can come around 1 or 2 picks to get a clear shot. That is not done now: we are forcing him to create his own shot. That shouldnt be the case.
When we get GG developed, then we can do away with Tony, if needed be:, but not now unless Tony cant cut it.
