Note About The Server Issues

Just a public service announcement.

We are aware of the server downtimes and dreaded "grey screens of death" that you all have had to endure off and on over the last few weeks.Â I can tell you that the last server upgrade that we did worked according to plan and the enhancements that were implemented are all that have kept the site running this long.Â The popularity of this site is a blessing but now is becoming a curse as well.Â We have maxed out BlueHost's ability to serve us.Â However, a move to a new server company is going to take time.Â Time that we just don't have enough of right now.Â We have plans on when we want to make a final server move but I'm not ready to make any announcements yet.

For the time being, the site should function properly most of the time.Â Please be patient and understand that this site is run by volunteers.Â Nobody wants it running smoothly more than we do, but at the end of the day we can only do so much.

These are good problems to have, so thanks once again for all the support and patience.

In desperation a few days ago, I asked the evil IT person here at work to “whitelist” this site, which to my surprise she did (I figured she’d “blacklist” it, if that is possible.) but it still did not ennable me to post in the forums.

The new site can’t get here fast enough to suit me. :P

I’m in agreement with Little D. I hope you are pulling in some revenue. Adsense maybe?

BlueHost has fallen out of good favor with me. For a contract I had, I asked them in advance if I could run a specifc app with their hosting, they said yes. After I had gone through the work of transferring the companies site, they then told me that they wouldn’t let me run it cause it was Java. Made me look bad.
