That was a good game. My only comment is the absence of KP in the last 5mins. Doc loves his small ball and all, but the AJ/KP combo was really giving the Mavs some problems.
NOTE to Doc: The Suns(who supposedly are the “how to win with playing "small-ball-basketball” example) don’t really play small-ball. When you have AStoudamire(6’10 Center) and SMarion(6’8 PF) you are not really playing “small-ball”. Look at their rebound averages. Those two are among the league leaders. So when the Cs play AJ(Center)and RGomes(PF) or PP(PF) can you really say we are equal to PHX in terms of controlling the boards?…..I didn’t think so…..
…use you comon sense Doc…that’s all I am asking
Too much Dirk. He’s a very tough match up. This was exactly the game to play – the young guys can be proud of themselves and we didn’t hurt our ping pong plans. Gerald is profiting the most from our current injuries and record – he’s getting confident. Rondo was terrible last night, Perk is making me change my mind about him with another game where his pluses exceeded his minuses (keep it up Perk) and Allan Ray has pushed Telfair to 4th string PG. I’m happy for Ray and Danny got him cheap but what a stinker of a trade the Telfair deal was..
It hasn’t been 17 years since the Celtics beat the Spurs, just 17 years since they did it on the road.
BTW, I’m sick of the opposing team’s papers always mentioning us as being the “lowly” Celtics or talking about our record, without ever mentioning our rash of injuries. I’m not delusional to think we are a great team, but we are far from “lowly” when Pierce is in the lineup and we are relatively healthy.
Pierce is going to get himself in a lot of trouble if he doesnt get adequate treatment for his infected elbow joint. Believe me this requires at least 3 weeks of intravenous antibiotic therapy.Obviously his last treatement was inadequate. Surprised this happens in Boston.
