O-fer Duncan
The chances of the Celtics ending their streak of losses against Tim Duncan are somewhere South of slim and perhaps somewhere North of none. Indeed, even the Spurs blogger (Pounding the Rock) is throwing us a pity party.
A cruel segababa for the youthful Celts right after they fought hard at Dallas and once again they will try to erase their 0-fer in the Duncan era. I would have liked their chances a lot better if the Spurs hadn't crapped out that stinkbomb 48 hours earlier. Is it wrong for me to hope for the visiting announcers for NBA Leaguepass on this one? Does Heinsohn work road games?

I think it would be great if we got the first pick and Memphis got the third. Then our own streak of dominance over Memphis would begin.

I was actually at the game the last time the Celtics beat the Spurs back in ‘97. It was one of their 15 wins that year, and it was very ugly. I’ll never forget the sound of an errant pass bouncing off Will Purdue’s knee..
Anyhow.. Lottery implications aside I’ll be rooting for the C’s tonight and not ‘against’ them, as I’ve been doing for the past month. They held their own last night, and I’m impressed with the amount of heart they’ve shown as of late.
I watched NBATV last night and Fred Carter announcer made the comment on how both Dallas and Suns “let down” after their classic game but Fred said, for Dallas playing the Celtics was a “get well card”.

The Cs are not getting the respect they deserve. Granted, our record stinks. Throw away the 18game loosing streak, and we have hold our own for the most part…and with most of our wings out(RGomes, Wally, TA…heck, even PP ans Scal at times). So they(the media) should get their act together and give the Cs some props.
I think next season and if free of injuries, we’ll win the Atlantic..at the very minimum. And this is not even including a trade or KDurant/Oden addition. Things are comming along very well in the past 2 weeks and I can see nothing but positives for next season.
hahahahaha coco “throw out the 18 game losing streak and we hold our own for the most part” hahahahahahaha……. I love the optomism CoCo amigo but….. throw out the fact that the Titanic took on a massive amounts of water it pretty much would have stayed afloat. ;)
Sir Rants A-lot does not want to hear Tommy H.?? Why?
we win tonight after being down by double digits in the first half. we press the tempo and win by 5 or so.

Dmoney, you called the Mav game correct last night. If you are right on the Spurs game (I have my doubts), I need to get the rest of your March madness picks and head to Vegas.

Well our last win was prior to Duncan right? And that year the Spurs held out Robinson at the end of the year for “precautionary” reasons, drafted Duncan and have beaten us ever since. Maybe we should hold out Pierce for precautionary leaking elbow reasons, draft Durant and see how we do against the Spurs after that.
Spurs blogger asked for it and he got it. He’ll probably not learn that he shouldn’t tempt the fates, but he did and they came though. Thanks for the help. Lot of factors converged to create some good Celtic karma and he just added to that mix along with some terrific play by the Celts. A really good Texas trip that points to the good stuff beginning to happen for this team and some of the green talent of this Green team beginning to blossom (sorry, couldn’t help myself).
