thats a nice article on perkins…nice to remind us that he’s actually tremendously limited right now…go perk! can’t wait for nect year! or the rest of this year! i love defensive minded centers!

“I like playing with him. He’s a go-to guy for me down in the post,” Pierce said of Jefferson. “Nothing is easier for a swingman who puts the ball on the ground or shoots the three than a post guy who can draw attention when they swing the ball to the post. It just makes my life easier when you’ve got a defender running out at me. I make his life easier when he knows that my man isn’t going to help off me and double-team him. It makes for a good combination.”

These two are really starting to show some chemistry on the court and should be much better next season. They are going to make a great 1-2 punch. If the Cs get lucky enough to land Oden, they are goint to be very dangerous next year, not two years from now as I think a guy like Oden can step in and play NBA defense right away.

Has anyone asked, can anyone explain why Perk doesn’t sit until his PF can mend? Just because surgery isn’t be recommended doesn’t mean it’s smart to keep him playing on what could develop into a career-ender.

When has this team ever sat a player for the good of the players healthy in the future? At least since Ainge and Doc have been here.

Other than that 1st year with Raef and Danny’s ‘believing’ Al, though they were so slow on the medical followup on him, I can’t say they have. Danny and Doc both played in an era where the extreme injury machismo was the order of the day, and it still seems to blind them to the best interests of the team sometimes.

You can also point to the fact that Doc is supposed to be limiting Pierce’s minutes. He said so just before he played in 41 minutes in the last game. Sure am glad he is limiting him or he wouldn’t get any rest.

And really generous of Doc to be trying to limit Perk’s minutes. As if PF is going to heal on 20-minute bouts of NBA basketball.

Can’t the Boston Globe come up with another name for their blog about the Celtics? I think I’m going to start a business where I sell globes in Boston.

Maybe I will call it Boston Globe.
