No Shut Down In Sight
It should come as no surprise that Paul Pierce might not meet with doctors until after the season. Pierce prefers competing to sitting on the sideline, especially when he knows that his younger teammates benefit from having him on the floor.
"Eventually, I'll see the doctor," said Pierce. "I'm the type that will get a cut and not wear a Band-Aid."
Asked if he may wait until the season is over, Pierce said, "Possibly."
At this point, the strongest possibility is that Pierce will finish out the season in uniform, take some much-needed time off, then work hard over the summer in Los Angeles to regain the strength and conditioning he lost because of a stress reaction in his left foot.

I appreciate the guys moxie, but the best thing would be for the Cs management to force Pierce to sit. I am not even thinking about the lottery balls here. It is a well known fact that when an athlete injures one part of his body he overcompensates with other parts of his body and that can lead to related or compound injuries.
An injury to PP in these last “semi” meaningless but oh so meaningful games(unless you are counting ping pong balls..which I am!)is inexcusable and could alter our next year plans. An injury to PP at this point in this season would leave us paralyzed for next year..even with Oden on our team- We have had enough of bottom dwelling and I do not want to see it again anytime soon- Upper Management needs to force PP to see the Doctor and get everytype of X-ray, MRI and prodding known to mankind.
Let us summarize:
Play PP gets you:
1. chance of losing #2 position/less chance for #1 position
2. chance of injury that could keep us as bottom dwellers for another season..I know OJ Mayo is coming out.but frankly unless his name is Jesus- I cannot bear another losing season and daily praying of winning the lottery
If PP sits and rests:
1. Injuries can heal properly so he can prepare for next year
2. Keep our #2 position- The Bucks and others are in full tank mode and a mini win streak could damage our position- We all know this, Upper Management knows this…lets be smart here!
3. Doc and Danny do not have to explain why a less than 100% PP was allowed to continue playing- Like Cman said, overcompensation with other parts can lead to related injuries- I know, it happened to me once when I returned to soon from injuries..I had a smashed toe and decided to push myself back on the court, and ended up breking my other ankle- That was a brilliant idea to come back when I was not 100% healed.
