It appears that Orlando writers have a pretty distorted view of their own team. So the Magic “played down” to their competition?? Sorry buddy, but a healthy Celtics team is just as good, if not better than your precious Orlando Magic. We hit the big shots and made the big stops down the stretch, and they didn’t simple as that. The Magic didn’t lose to the “lowly” Boston Celtics. They lost to the better team.
6. Vin Baker, Celtics ($5.2 million)
I almost hit the floor when I read this, but Baker — whom Boston released in February of 2004 — is still getting paychecks from the C’s. He’s due $5.2 million this year from the leftovers of his behemoth contract, which the Celtics tried to void in 2004 when they released him. The original contract was supposed to expire in 2006, but the two sides agreed to pay out a reduced amount over a longer time period.
Baker also had the privilege of being cut a second time, as the Celtics made him a luxury tax amnesty subtraction in 2005, even though he’d been gone more than a year. Nonetheless, his Boston money will supplement whatever pittance he collected in three appearances in November for Minnesota.

Great game from Perk last night. He did an amazing job on Dwight and in case everyone forgot. This healthier version of Perk is the reason he got that very reasonable contract. We add a defending 2/3 gaurd who can stick their “Kobe/Wade” type scorer and make it tough for them and we have ourselves a team! Rajon needs to be working on that mid range pull-up all summer. Anyone notice that Big AL needs a left hand?! If he developed a left he would be unbelievable. He got blocked by Dwight last night on an up and under that his left hand was wide open for an easy scoop to the rim. He’s pretty amazing as it is, but that left up and under is a killer against shot-blockers. Perk needs to do exactly what he is doing and will get better and better at it. Paul does his thing. Delonte is a hard nosed gamer no matter what anyone thinks. He just wills himself to wins. Gomes/ Green/ Powe/ Ray/ and yes even Scal (although some won’t probably be here all next year) can rotate who is stepping up from the bench. We are a playoff team if healthy. That doesn’t even factor in Tony coming back…
I like Telfair’s attitude in the Hoopsworld link. The fact that Doc and co. helped him get to that place what getting better is all about. I think we’ll see some improvement if he’s used/not traded next year.
