Jerry West is done trying to right the ship in Memphis.Â You gotta figure that job will be pretty attractive to a rising GM wanting a shot at drafting Oden or Durant and building around Pau Gasol (or a chance to trade him).Â Then again, that is just the kind of job Rick Pitino thought he was getting into 10 years ago.Â

With the best opportunity to draft either Oden or Durant, Jerry West calls it quits? It can only mean that management has decided on a cost-cutting approach and that suggests that Gasol won’t be part of the Memphis future.

This stinks because I’m assuming that Jerry West will not be allowed to make any moves. Bye bye, Gasol. he ain’t coming to the Celtics.

I was playing golf in Bermuda once and the caddie pointed to a beautiful house on a hillside and said “That’s Jerry West’s house.” Imagine he’ll be spending some time there, as well.

at 69, he deserves to ride off into the sunset. watching the grizz must have even surpassed watching the c’s. i am glad red never got to see this past fiasco. no mas.
