If you were the equivalent in age of a senior in college, and just been given tens of thousands of dollars – if not millions – in cash, and people adored you everywhere you went…what would you be thinking?

You probably wouldnt be thinking about starting a family and investing in annuities, I assure you that

Nice knowing you Pinkney
And its nice to read about some of the Celtics that actually care about their career and are helping out in the community.

At least the idiots are letting themselves be known for what they are early in the offseason so that the FO can get rid of them. Talk about an embarrassing start to the offseason, regardless of how minimal some of these players were to the team this past season.
And I thought the season couldnt get any worse..

It’s also good to see Violet Palmer getting some recognition in the media as a decent ref. She really has improved, and although I was a little surprised to see her officiating in the playoffs, she has justified that selection by doing a good job. In retrospect, Maxwell’s “back to the kitchen” remark has helped rather than hurt her.
But does the SI “kiss of death” apply to officials? After the Lawrence article, I fully expect her to have some run-in with a player and get suspended like Joey Crawford.
I still believe in Telfair as well, and he will make Doc look like a bigger moron, if that’s possible, when he is a bigtime player on another team.

Regarding Pinckney:
If you have never, ever been technically over the legal limit and driven an automobile, then by all means fire away.
But if you have, shut up and show some compassion.
I’m not saying its right, but I would assume the latter applies to most of the people who participate on this blog, including myself.
Furthermore, the fact Pinckney played at all in the NBA is in itself proof that he cares about his career.
Dont confuse being human with career goals.

Just like he made the Portland coaching staff look like morons…

Earl, have you ever lost someone close to you because of drunk driving?
If not, then maybe you should be the one shutting up, because I have.
Drunk driving should not be talked about lightly. I don’t care that we’re all human, if someone cared about their career, not to mention the other innocent people on the road, they would get someone else or a taxi to drive them home.

I’ve lost someone close to me because of speeding, but no, not technically because of drunk driving, or buzzed driving. Look, mistakes and bad decisions are different from tragedies. Sometimes, mistakes lead to tragedies. Thankfully, most of the time, they dont. All I am saying is let’s not crucify these people for making mistakes. I think Bill Belichek spoke to this today when he said:
â€Å"Again, I think all of us have made mistakes. At least I have. I think some others have in this room. Maybe there are some that havenâ€â"¢t, I donâ€â"¢t know. I think whatâ€â"¢s more important is not an incident that a person had, but really who they are, what their character is, and what you think that person really is, and what theyâ€â"¢re about. I would say that about anybody.â€Â

Drunk Driving should be a first time offender losing their license for a full year and 30 days in jail, mandated breath analizer machine in their vehicle from that time forward. Second offense is permanent loss of license and 90 days in jail. If they ever get caught behind the wheel after that then they should have a year in jail. No exceptions. If you drink and drive you are a selfish punk and don’t deserve sympathy. Driving is a priviledge, not a right…
The NBA, NFL, and all other sports leagues ought to have 1 year suspensions for first time offenders and permanent bans for a second offense. There is no gray area with this.
Drunk driving is one of the supidest and most overlooked offenses. Many people dont realize that when you drink and drive, not only are you endangering yourself and those in your car, but the other innocent people driving on the road.
I will never allow myself or my friends to drink and drive. One of the stupidest things a person can do.
