It’s reassuring that Chris Wallace doesn’t know the definition of the word “literally.”

Another thought on the Doc extension. If the Celts had not given him the extension and ultimately fired him , Doc could have gone public saying how he was told to tank games and yet he is fired for having a poor record.
We all know the truth , but it could be spun to where it’s a PR nightmare for the Celts.
Just a thought !

Ainge says “X’s and O’s are somewhat overated in my mind. Critiques of subtitution patterns and timeouts are overated.” What does he believe the function of a coach is if not to manage the game?

You can also expect Doc to use the European exhibition games as an excuse in that he didn’t have enough time in training camp to prepare for the season.
Nobody is better at excuses than Doc .

â€Å"Itâ€â"¢s easy to find things that every coach does wrong,†Ainge added later. â€Å"Xâ€â"¢s and Oâ€â"¢s are somewhat overrated in my mind. Critiques of substitution patterns and timeouts are overrated because, in my opinion, just about every NBA coach is on a fairly equal field in those regards. Those are the least of my concerns."
—Danny must be out of his mind. Doc blows game after game because he isn’t on par with just about every NBA coach. His coaching career has been full of stupid mistakes that have cost us games. He doesn’t know how to adjust in games and we run out of timeouts far too often at the end of close games. Doc may be just fine off the court, but on the court he’s a total mess. Danny seems to want a coach that can just act as a big brother to the players. That’s not going to win us games.

Another reason Danny likes Doc is that he can tell him who to play and has great influence over him
A respected coach would not allow that to happen . So until the Celts are ready to turn the corner it will be Doc. The important thing to remember is that Danny said that Doc is the "perfect coach at this time ". With an unsettled rotation and plenty of uncertainty still, this team is not ready for a " real coach " yet. A lot of juggling and assessment is still required .

Here’s a conundrum for Celtic fans: What’s worse, acquiring Veal or putting him out on the court?

I hope what you’re saying is your opinion. I think this is far from the truth. I can’t give exact references, but everything I’ve heard or read is to the contrary. Danny was asked on the Tanquay/Dickerson show this year or last whether he wanted to see Gerald Green play more. Danny said, as a fan—yes, but it’s Doc’s decision.
Yes it’s my opinion , and of course that would be the standard line I would expect from Danny. There is no way he would admit to influencing Doc’s decisions but to think it’s not happening is being pretty naieve.
