Watch For Jumpers
Getting back to the lottery itself, there's one thing to watch as the drama unfolds that is typically the highlight of the process. Watching for teams that jump up out of the expected draft order. Here's what you need to know:
- If one team jumps into the top 3, then we could finish as low as 3rd
- If two teams jump into the top 3, then we could finish as low as 4th
- If three teams jump up, obviously we're out of the top 3 already and could go as low as 5th.
The moral of the story, jumpers are not our friends.
Here's the order of expected finish in the order in which they'll be revealed. If any of these doesn't come up in turn, they've jumped.Â
- L.A. Clippers
- New Orleans/OKC
- Philadelphia   Â
- Indiana (pick will go to Atlanta if it stays here)
- Sacramento
- New York (pick will go to Chicago)
- Charlotte
- Minnesota
- Portland
- Seattle
- Atlanta (pick will go to Phoenix if it stays here)
- Milwaukee
- Boston
- Memphis

wait, so if one of those teams isnt in that specific order, then there is a jumper right?
so if for example it went clippers, new orleans, then indiana instead of Philly, that means philly jumped into top three right?

ok good, i think the announcers do too, but i want to be sure to not jump off the balcony, so i just want to make sure i understand it all. but it sucks, because you still dont really know, since someone could jump to 3 and we could still be all set, and vice versa…oh well, 45 minutes…

If three teams jump, then it means we will be fifth because Memphis will get to go before us… but that’s not going to happen so we won’t have to worry about it…. right?
