Lottery Win Could Raise Ticket Prices
Season ticket-holders who renewed early (ie: by the end of April) were able to lock in at 2006-07 prices, in addition to receiving free parking and membership in Legends, the ground-level club at TD Banknorth Garden.Â
Â
Those who renewed by the midway point of this month will also pay ’06-07 prices, albeit without the fringe benefits.Â
Â
That grace period, naturally, doesn’t carry beyond the May 22 lottery. Nor is Celtics management making any promises about what would happen with an Oden or Durant in uniform next season.

Raising prices following a disaster season just doesn’t appear to be the smart way to go. Raise prices when you have a legitimate team to showcase.
Despite who the Celtics draft, fan loyalty can only be stretched so far. Remember, this is the year that Doc must show his credentials as an “above average” coach. Too much uncertainty for get-rich owners to squeeze too hard at the gate. They’ll probably do it anyway because the name of the game is BUSINESS FIRST!

I think the fans need to pick a side. Either be a spending team or a cheap ticket team. Raising ticket prices may allow the team to spend over the cap to be competitive. Personally I’d rather pay a little bit more (I am a season ticket holder) to have a team that is a winner.

To write an article on this is such a total waste of time, typical stupid attempt to create an article. To have put it in the blog just lends some attention to an absolutely pointless newspaper piece. Pleas have some discretion, Jeff. If the Herald writes a stupid/pointless article you don’t have to put it on the blog. Duh, if there’s more demand for tickets do you mean may actually increase your ticket prices and offer fewer discounts next year? But as of yet you have not decided and have no information really to give us on this. Wow what a story!

Yeah I don’t get why this is news. This is old news to season ticket holders. They told us in February or so that we had to renew by the end of April to lock in the old prices.
I saw that coming. You have to figure with Oden or Durant in uniform, the interest is going to be there. I’m just glad they didn’t decide to screw us, the season ticket holders who stuck it through these last two horrible years. That would be more of a story, if they decided to raise prices across the board.
