If Chris Wallace takes Leo Papile with him to Memphis (as was suggested in Today’s Herald), that will be a huge blow to Ainge’s credibility. Papile is basically the father of AAU basketball in Boston and knows literally everyone.

If Papile leaves, Ainge and rivers will be left high and dry.

people working for Ainge/Celtics get promoted and it hurts Ainge’s credibility??…no matter,Danny & Doc are 100% responsible so Leo,Wallace T Brown etc are not crucial….but a great defensive mind wouldn’t hurt…lol

Does anyone know why, according to Hoopsworld, so many of our guys are working out in Orlando this summer? Is there a particular trainer they’re working with there? Is it to accommodate Doc? Thanks.

That right, his AAU knowledge plus the fact that Papile knows literally everyone. He knows the people at Nike and Addidas, he’s a long-time personal friend of Jerry West and other NBA GM’s, et5c. etc.

agree..great guy to have as is Wallace but if both guys get a bump in position& money how is that a knock on Danny??maybe a knock on Wyc but Danny’s not gonna give them his job

Papile is probably the main advisor to Danny and those who preceded him in matters pertaining to the draft. In addition, he has friends and sources all over the place to get player info from. I think it’s fair to say, maybe not on this blog, that DA has drafted well. Thus, the importance of Leo Papile.

Leo knows almost every player worth knowing from the time they are 12 years old. His teams tour all over the country playing against these players when they are 13-14-15-16 years old. He knows their coaches, their parents and what they eat for breakfast.
