Commenting system upgrade notice

I just wanted to let all of you know that I will be performing some upgrades to our site's commenting system at 11:30 EST. Commenting will be offline during that period. Provided the upgrades go well we should have commenting back online shortly. Otherwise...eeeeek! So, let's keep our fingers crossed.

Creepy ain't it?

Are the changes supposed to be noticeble???

The upgrades are mostly related to the improvement of current functionality, performance and security. Some are also related to some things we may do with commenting in the future.

Other than that, not much will be noticeable now except that I’ve implemented per article hit counts that are visible in the main CelticsBlog and CelticsstuffLive pages. Those hit counts will come nowhere near to how many people will read most posts here, but will be indicative of how many people had interest in what commenting members had to say.

If the number is as low as I expect it to be, I’ll probably turn the hit counter off.
