No Blatt
There have been a number of reports linking David Blatt to a potential job in the C’s organization, but Ainge held up a stop sign on such talk.

It’s entirely true that Blatt may have not been the best acquisition for the expected job openings (GM and “lead-assistant”), but he stood head and shoulders ABOVE other names listed. While bloggers tend to be emotional creatures and supposedly know less than they think they know, the presumed experts that occupy high positions of trust in the Celtic’s organization, lack credibility based on past moves. Maybe the moral majority actually knows more than they are being credited with.
Ainge’s comments dismissing Blatt as a possible new employee are very discouraging especially when we hear that the Celtic’s are once again pursuing Robert Swift ( a player so highly regarded that Al Jefferson was once offerred in trade….and we know how ill-advised that move would have been).
I had hoped that the Celtic’s hierarchy would have learned something from the disastrous past season but it appears that we’ll never be more than a curiosity when it comes to leadership!

No Blatt?
You mean we haven’t spearheaded a breaking story? Oh well, maybe next time.
On the other hand, what’s Ainge supposed to say?
We’ll have Bulpet on this Sunday to pursue this further.
At least Steve is reading our “stuff.”

Well, as reported in the Herald, Ainge’s denial seems to be worded a little curiously, don’t you think? He doesn’t flatly deny that the Celtics have been in contact with Blatt, just that he doesn’t want to talk about it.
Maybe someone else in the organization talked to Blatt as a potential replacement for Ainge.
I still think Blatt’s arrival is unlikely, but the denial is really not something that changes my mind. GM’s and coaches deny stuff all the time in order to save face and use it in negotiations.
