Put a suit on Paul! Aha ha, no really, fun picture. I am looking forward to their first game together. And the BN Garden won’t need pumped in crowd noise any more.

nice picture – you got this where?

Beats looking at the face Allen Iverson by a long way.

We ought to erect a lifesize bust of Kevin McHale outside the Garden for making the Celts a viable organization again. Enjoy your youth movement Kevin.

Awesome image. 3 out of 15 ain’t bad.

Hey naysayers, don’t start this juvenile it’s Paul’s team, it’s KG’s team, etc. This trio just wants to win a ring.

Get over it, we’re legitimate title contenders. For chriss sake, these 3 have spent the last 3 years with teams in the gutter; this is nirvana.

The only word for that picture is beautiful if youre a Celtics fan…LOL….im hoping to get a poster of that thing….and coachenew, Im with ya, cant stop smiling, especially after that press conference..

Last year’s team was the pray for the ping pong ball team.

The year before it was keep the game close and let Paul go one against the world in the closing minutes while our youth watched.

This year it is all about the wins and the ring.

I’m watching NBATV’s replay of all the stuff from today. They said the C’s gave up thier 2009 first rounder, not next years. I didn’t realize this. I just assumed it was next seasons. I think this is a big difference as it could be a good chip to fillout the roster next off season if there are any holes or they can use it to start building a future.

This is the happiest day I’ve had being a Celtic’s fan since the comeback win over NJ in the playoffs in 2002 ;D

by tb727 on Jul 31, 2007 10:33 PM EDT reply actions

Those three looked generally excited at the prospect of playing together.

I think Danny also made it very clear the Celtics are still shopping for more players. There isn’t a lot left out there, and the Celtics don’t have a lot of chips left to trade, but I would assume Brevin Knight or Gary Payton end up in C’s land, and possibly PJ Brown.

Gee, what’s with the “Your comment is too short” business?

The Boston Celtics in NBA Live 08 are going to be redicurous.

by ek. on Jul 31, 2007 10:51 PM EDT reply actions

Here’s something interesting. In the history of the NBA, prior to this Garnett trade, only eight league MVP’s have been traded. Garnett, who was MVP in 2004, is now the ninth. With the exception of Charles Barkley, every one of these former MVP’s went on to win titles with teams to which they were traded. The list includes, Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson, Kareem Jabbar, Bill Walton, Bob McAdoo, and Shaq. http://www.nba.com/features/mvptrade_040716.html

Your comment was considered malformed and therefore, a potential hack by the commenting system here. That was most likely due to your usage of either less than two alphanumeric characters prefacing the first line of your comment or something else troublesome that you did. No blame, just fact.

We run pretty tight security around here. Don’t take it personally.

how’s that for malformed?

I haven’t been this happy and excited to be a Celtics fan in 20 years. I wish the season started tomorrow!

I live on the West Coast and I’m glad to have this site so I can communicate w/ other Celtic fans. No matter what happens (almost), this is gonna be a great year.

Just an FYI Bob, it happens whenever I use quotation marks anywhere in the post. First sentence, last sentence, whatever, it won’t let me post until they’re gone. I’m not complaining, just letting you know.

I went home early from work to watch the press conference — that is excited.

I did think it was interesting that when they handed the three of them their jerseys, Garnett had his facing forward (Celtics showing), while the other two had the back facing (names showing). Pierce and Allen turned theirs around to match KG, not vice versa. KG also has that powerful charisma that we’ve all seen through the years — when he started smiling and his head was bobbing, it just lit up the room. KG is the center of gravity in any room he’s in, and I presume will be the same on the Celts.
