Garnett/Miller Update From Globe

From the Globe:

We got the following information from new Globe Boston Celtics reporter Marc Spears, who received updates on Kevin Garnett and Reggie Miller.

Celtics forward Kevin Garnett has been playing pickup ball against current and former NBA players, Los Angeles standouts and college players at UCLA this week. Word is Garnett's team did not lose one game on Wednesday. Several attendees raved about how he dominated easily. On one play, he caught an offensive rebound on the block and jumped and dunked without taking a step.

Word is Garnett and potential Celtics teammate Reggie Miller have been working out together at Pepperdine. He was there Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Ok Kevin – that’s enough – save some for later – it’s a lonmg season. Get to Boston and stay in a safe room.

Take it easy KG. Rest those 31 year old legs.

He’s just trying to keep up with Ol’ Man Miller. Seriously, the guy’s getting at least one big-time assist this off season if he brings RM into the fold. If somehow Sam Cassell were sprung free too, it’d already be his team before the first day of training camp.

Again I say, make this the NBA equivalent of the Over the Hill Gang, and we’re in business… as long as someone can play defense.

Despite the fact that Ken Starr is the dean of the law school at Pepperdine, I’m stoked. BTW, I suspect I’m the only member of the C-Blog Nation that has been bullied off a public court in LA by Reggie Miller. I was in 1990. I thought he and his buddies were total A-holes. They were shooting a commerical and instead of saying they had the court for a shoot they pushed us off the court without speaking to us. All is forgiven if you can spread the court for Garnett and company, That’s right. Garnett and Co. Not Pierce and Co.
