KG could be of more use to the Sox than JD drew and Willy Mo Pena combined..

Wow…he really looks like he hates the racist city of Boston. Wait…is that Michael Wilbon over Papi’s left shoulder in the Red Sox hat?

P.S. Everyone in this picture is African American. Boston is so racist. ;)

In other news someone left a burning hot cross bun in Manny’s front porch last night.
Police have no suspects.

I was just pointing out what a dumb-A Wilbon is, even though it’s an obvious fact.
By the way, a city cannot be racist…only certain biggots within it’s limits can be. It just struck me as funny how happy they look and there was the other brother in the background. Thought maybe this photo should be sent to PTI.

He is looking happier, it seems..but still a bit shell-shocked. I am not sure he was mentally prepared to leave Minnesota…and he might even feel a bit guilty about it. But, he will be embraced by Boston — and with any luck, he’ll have his number retired and enter the hall wearing Celtics Green with no guilt at all. This was the right move for all parties involved…
Agree whole heartedly popcontest. I also hope that Gerald gets to see his # in the rafters alongside banner #17. ;)

True, but when I pan the stands in Fenway Park I dont see one black person, a fact which I am sure doesnt escape the black athletes playing on the field.
With that said, I like the pic.

I reckon the fact we even debate this stuff makes us decent folk in its own right

I’m not saying Boston is racist, but just because KG came here doesn’t mean it’s not.
That’s true, but it sure doesn’t help the arguement that it IS a racist city, as it is according to some geniuses (hello, Mr. Wilbon). We have African-American players, Hispanic players, Japanese players & now even a Canadian setup guy on the Sox.
Guess that racism must be scaring those high-profile athletes off in droves… ;-)
Racism. Boston. I lived there till I was 16. Moved back from 20 to 29. In the meantime and since I’ve lived in Connecticut, Atlanta, New York City and Los Angeles. I just don’t see an appreciable difference anywhere I go. You can read racism into different scenarios everywhere you go.
A lot of people have pointed out to me that there is a thriving black middle class in ATL, but all I saw was a city where blacks and whites live in seperate developments (ATL doesn’t have neighborhoods), and there are lots of monuments to slave owners (Stone Mountain?). L.A. is supposed to be very progressive, but I’ve moved three times here and NEVER once had a black neighbor (I had plenty of them in Boston). Oh, well. I guess it’s a matter of perspective.
I saw it when KG walked onto the field to throw out the first pitch and I see it in this picture. the SMILE tells it all. This guy is happy to be a Celtic and a happy Celtic is going to be a good Celtic. I’ve quickly looked thru these posts that seem to be talking about racism. Read the story about the drowning kid and the hat. This story is about GREEN, Celtic GREEN. That’s all Red cared about and in his honor that’s all we should care about.
ugh.. RAcker,
ugh.. RAcker,Send that photo to Wilbon, with your reasoning, and enjoy being the poster boy for “ignorant white guy from Boston.”

There are racists everywhere. They come in all colors,
nationalities, religions. The key is to teach the children respect for people in general.
