Celtic fans should read the article “Remembering Johnny” in the “Loy’s Place” link. It is not a complete story, but one thing that is left out is that Johnny was a gunner’ I believe, on a Bomber, in WWII and flew many combat missions. He was also in the bomber group frequently protected by the Tuskegee Airmen (who never allowed the loss of a bomber they were flying cover for). Tommy Heinsohn pointed this out and a few of the Tuskegee Airmen who live in the area are often honored during half time of home games as "Heros Among Us.
