I am as happy as anyone can be about this team’s first half. However, I am concerned with some of the signs I am seeing, especially at point guard. Danny needs to sign a backup point yesterday. And, if Rondo is still hurting he needs to sign that point guard even quicker. What an effort by Garnett tonight to steal that ball.

Rondo really needs to figure it out. I mean, on the final play, he was 4 feet away from the inbound pass not doing anything at all. Where’s his head at?!

How on Earth did KG only get 5 shots.. that’s right.. 5 shots (OK and one trip to the line) after the way he started the game?

Big Al is rapidly becoming Zach Randolph (but less retarded and more likable at least) and it makes me very sad. He’s my favorite.

Eventually some of the stat head writers will start writing about Ray Allen’s remarkable decline. He’s had about 4 “Ray Allen” games this year, a bunch of solid games earlier in the year.. but in the past month or two he’s been pretty bad more often than not.

This team is really missing Posey.

Wish Doc would have played Baby, House, and Powe some more minutes, but this is a pretty mild complaint.

BREWWWWERRRRRRRR

There was a time in the 3rd Q when the Wolves had 3 turnovers, we had 12- and we are supposed to be the experienced team.

Ray Allen needs a “slump buster”.

Rondo is getting scored on like the town tramp.

This team is “broke” in many respects. We are lucking out and playing like a 500- team.

Doc needs to step up and start getting better team play- we look lost offensively, Rondo can’t stay in front of his man/ this team looks like it has never seen a pick and roll.

Many Celitcs biching about play calling like Tommy Boy. Shut up and play ball Cs.

Only good for tonight was a W.

But what the heck, I’ll take this over a 24W season.

If you took Garnett away, this team would have trouble winning in the ACC. Is anyone still predicting that they will be a championship contender? They sure aren’t playing like one.

Coaching….

if ever anyone doubted kg for mvp, let this game be a reminder as to how great he is and what he means to a team. i do not know what has happened to rondo but he is playing in a daze. as bad as ray’s shooting was, he was making bad decisions all night- this was a nightmare game for him. this could be a slump- this could be a harbinger of things to come.hope it’s the former.the wolves knew how to lose. our ex guys had intensity and were great in spurts but still can’t finish a game. the c’s did not win; they avoided a loss.

Wow…now the sky is falling. Can name a few other teams who aren’t exactly playing their best lately either.

I stopped watching this game out of pure disgust and the fact the Celtics have lost every single game I watched since I got home on vacation. My wife watched and said Celtics down by 3 down by one, up by one, We wowhohoo. What a time for me to go into a slump. I won’t bother watching for a month.

was at the game. horrendous play by the C’s.
Rondo stunk. his defense was horrible.
Ray stunk. His decision making has been getting progressively worse.

I swear there was one stretch in the second half they must have turned the ball over at least 6 straight times (maybe not 6 but sure seemed like it watching that mess unfold before my eyes). bad trip after bad trip down the floor. pure luck that they won with Perk on the boards after Ray’s miss.

Posey’s absense is beginning to really show what he contributes in terms of defense, effort and team cohesiveness.

Yes, Posey’s absence on the defensive end has been quite evident. But lets simmer down. The Pistons lost to the Knicks/Bulls this month— every team has bad games. A solid backup PG and some adjustments in the second half and this team will enter the postseason with home-court and as good a shot as anyone of getting to the Finals.

You know what pains me. Rondo like Tony are really defensive players. Telfair is playing his best ball yet of his shorts career. I didn’t see the game only highlights because I live overseas in Dubai UAE. Did Bassy school him?

I think people are a bit hard on Ray Allen. I mean I think he has lost his game because he is what he is a pure scorer. All three have given something up for their goal of a championship. I think Ray is going through one hell of a transition. KG, yes he carried the Timberwolves but he had Cassel for periods of time and other players. They just never jelled into a solid team. Pierce, Walker left some time ago and he had Ricky, Payton, Jefferson and others. He stuck with the Celts but there were many nights when he wasn’t the high scorer and def wasn’t a leader.

Ray really carried the Sonics because of his pure scoring. Rashard Lewis helped but before he came Ray did a lot. I don’t think he has settled into his role quite yet. Some minor injuries have kept him out a few games but he deserves some slack.

Would love Sam I am in green. But the basketball gods brought us KG so that’s not happening. Stoudamire, I don’t know. My BB IQ is not where it should be for that.

Rondo is playing lazy man’s D. He ‘s playing for the steals and such. No excuse for someone with his quickness not to be up on his man. That late inbounds play he looked like he was staring out into space. Don’t know if the coaches were yelling directives to him or not. They seem like their changing from a quick defensive oriented team to a more power, on the glass type team with Davis and Powe helping in that area some. I would rather see them go back to the quick defense. They need another point but unless Posey missing is the main reason I would like to see another long defensive player (a bigger Tony Allen).

All these years of losing have really done a job on us as fans. We have no idea how to follow a good team. We overreact, we underestimate our team, and we hold higher expectations of them than we do any other contender in the league. The Spurs lost to Memphis, the Mavs lost to Memphis and Chicago, the Suns lost to Seattle, Miami, and The baby Celtics in Minny twice! Our Eastern competitor, Detroit, lost to Chicago three times and they lost to New York! Furthermore, they all have their share of ugly/lucky wins. Yet, no one questions that these teams are still title contenders.

Maybe this is right, given the track record of those other teams over time. And we certainly have some concerns about our squad. My point is that so do those other teams; we just don’t watch those other teams every day like we watch our team so we overrate them and exalt them as perfect. Even with all our flaws, I expect this team to at least make the Eastern Conference Finals. We’re better than New Jersey. We’re better than Toronto. We’re better than Washington. On a good day we’re better than Orlando and Cleveland, and on a great day we’re better than Detroit. Does that mean we’ll win banner 17? Maybe not this year. But, I’d say it qualifies us as “a contender.”

when we play well we win…99….when we play so-so we win 90…when we play like crap we win 50%..basically we’re a great regular season team with a shot at being a great playoff team which only a few teams can say…we need a experienced point & Big added and Danny will get those 2 pieces….and next year? players will be lining up to come…and the year after that with Ray’s ending deal?..we’ll add a stud with that money..this will be the worst team of the next 5 years

I think Ainge and McHale made a pact after the trade that all games between the two this season will come down to the wire, regardless of either team’s respective record coming into the game. It’s important for both fan bases to have reason to feel they were not cheated -but especially Minnesota’s. That was achieved last night and certainly went a long way to buying McHale more time managing the team. Does anyone honestly believe that the Celtics put forth even half the defensive effort they did against the Pistons? The Celtics are on cruise control right now.

And whoever posted the “trade Rondo for Foye” thread needs to have his (or her) head examined.
