great game to watch. PP was off but didn’t matter. Veal was lousy as usual. Pruitt didn’t show much in his limited minutes—would have preferred to see him a little sooner to see how he did with a more veteran line-up.
First time this year TA looked like the TA from last year. a very welcome sight. Leon looked terrific as well. Glad to see House finally get his touch back. Rondo looked like he was back up to speed and looked really good in picking his spots to score.
So many great stories tonight. Rondo showing that when he is the main fascilitator in an offense, well he’s about as good as it gets. Tony Allen officially back, and Eddie House just uconscious from behind the arc. But none of it even compares to Leon Powe’s performance. 25 and 11???? This guy may have a low IQ, but he is smart enough to realize how to get it done in the paint. He is a beast and a workhorse, what is not to love about this guy.
Every minute he gets he makes the most of, and who would have thought a future 5 of Perk, Powe, Davis, T. Allen and Rondo would be showing this much promise. It is safe to say that Boston has done the impossible, put together a championship contending team and still maintained a very bright future. As happy as Mchale has to be with the progress of Al Jefferson, he has got to be squirming in his seat knowing that he wasn’t able to acquire a Leon Powe, Tony Allen or Rajon Rondo, instead being stuck with guys like Telfair and Gerald Green.

yeah,we won. we deserved it because we played hard, and our srubs were hungry. but wow- did miami lose- pitiful. skippy just scored the most insignificant 20 pts. i’ve ever seen. i am no riley man but i was feeling bad for him. when they showed mourning on the bench i had a flashback to the game reggie lewis went down. i believe mourning was on the floor at the time. so long ago- so sorrowful- and now we’re back and zo has to watch his team lay eggs. i don’t feel bad for shaq or wade- the have theirs.
When you’ve got “Mr. Basketball” spouting "WOW!’ a half dozen times in a game, you know you’ve done something…All the rest was said by Master Po(we) above.

great game by powe, tommy’s right on his rebounding, kid clears out more space from a technical standpoint then ive seen in a long time. just knows how to make himself “bigger” then he is. also, can perk take notes on how, ya know, when he catches a good feed, he GOES RIGHT UP. honestly, nothing makes me more unhappy with perk then him getting a good feed, and power dribbling it, wasting just enough time to get stripped/blocked. Leon knows when he catches a nice pass, its time to go up with it.
and, rondo showing why he’s so important. this kid is going to be good for years to come. he keeps working on his jumper, which is noticeably better this year, though still not great, and he could be a great PG, moving up from very good :D. Good move keeping him danny, glad we held firm on that one.
Wow! You know its a tough night when your entire team is outscored in your building by Rondo, Tony Allen, Powe and Eddie House.

It makes me so happy to see Riley’s lifetime won-loss percentage sink and sink and sink. Does anyone know how it now compares with Red’s?

Powe again proved when he gets minutes he produces. This is not a 12th man, he’s a solid NBA rotation player. Barkley and Anthony Mason got it done as undersized 4s – Powe’s obviously nowhere near Barkley offensively, but he’s constantly crashing the boards and hustling. He’s been one of my favorites since he joined the club.
Scal is a 12th man. That Doc continues to play him is just a joke — he must be trying to make Ainge feel better. The Posey signing made him redundant, b/c there’s a big who spaces the floor by MAKING SHOTS, not just standing behind the 3 line.
Love seeing Rondo look to score. He needs to be that aggressive with the Big Three!

Powe is just a guy you want to see in a C’s uniform his entire career. Hard worker, hustles, blue-collar type, and a fanstastic human being. If we have to see pro athletes get paid idiotic sums of money to play a kid’s game, I’d like to see some of that money go to guys like Powe!
Rondo – I’m a believer.
Leon Powe in a nutshell: Miami tough guy Udonis Haslem drives to the basket; Powe steps up and sets himself to take (what should have been) a charge; Haslem bounces off Powe, falls to the court and leaves the game soon after with a sprained ankle. Powe just stands there unmoved, and goes on to put up 25/11 for the game.
It’s like those Army commercials: there’s tough, and then there’s Leon Powe tough.
Amazing that the Heat announcers were falling all over themselves saying what a great game Mr Blunt was having. Even more amazing that Mr Blunt got his contract based on his defense. Disgusting defensive “effort”. I’m with you, mpcu40. When a capable player makes no effort whatsoever, he should be cut.
Good to see one of the real good guys in the NBA get some time and produce. Also great to see Davis, who is clearly competing with Powe for time, be the first person to congratulate Powe at the end of the game.
agred, though thier would be enough time for both powe and davis if doc would A) drop his rediculous small lineup where posey becomes the 4 and put on of them out there. that way we wouldn’t, you know, throw in the towel on rebounding for good stretchs.
and b) end his unholy love affair with giving scal unproductive minutes.
I was a Powe basher much of last year and early this year. I was wrong. He can play ball. I think the speed of the NBA game is such that smaller PFs have a real role, and he is becoming a prototype productive small 4. I am very impressed how quickly he finishes off the dish, his rebounding prowess, and his quick feet on defense. Glad to be wrong.
