Scal gets his $6.6M whether he sits at home or the end of the bench. Meanwhile we a losing a spot that may be going to a low salary deserving youngster. All we have with Scal is a practice player. Either way he gets his $6.6M so it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to keep him when we can have a guy making less than $500,000 more deserving and possibly capable of helping us down the road.

Scal is tradeable given is relatively low salary and there are NBA teams that he can help — and the C’s may still be one of them. But I think whether or not he goes depends on Miles. If they think Miles is ready, they they’ll probably work a deal. If Miles is iffy, then maybe the Coach Cassel option works?
Sorry about the bad link. Should be fixed now.

I disagree that Scal is tradable. A rookie making less than $500,000 can do as much or more as Scal. His only trade value is to package a youngster like Baby, JR, or Walker that another team is high on and get someone in the $4M range that the trade #s work.
No one will trade for Scal straight up. And if that deal above is there, can’t we just re-activate Scal and do the deal then?
