Preseason Game 4: Boston Celtics vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Open Game Thread
After about the 3rd or 4th preseason game I start to zone out a bit and pine for the regular season. That intensifies when Boston takes the court with a team its already played in the preseason. You know, like tonight. So in anticipation of tonight's game I'm throwing out 5 players I'll be watching, as well as what I'm looking for:
Point Guard: Gabe Pruitt - initiate the offense
Shooting Guard: Tony Allen - avoid turnovers and foul trouble
Small Forward: Darius Miles - earn a roster spot (vague I know)
Power Forward: Glen Davis - conditioning
Center: Kendrick Perkins - defend and look/stay healthy
Head over to Fear the Sword to check out the enemy and catch a Cavs' season preview.
On the bright side, if they run out of balls in Pittsburgh, they can use a sock:

The final countdown...
At some point it should become clear who they plan to cut, at this point from a pure basketball standpoint it is clearly Veal Scalabrine. However from a money standpoint it is probably D Miles or Pruitt. Thoughts?

Also
I am just turning in tonight to see what Billy Walker does. Very excited about this young man.

I Think Miles is Out
They have too much money invested in Scal and don’t want to eat that contract. But I really don’t know. That’s the biggest story left.

We're watching that one with interest
Is anyone saying that he’s out, or is that just your gut read on it?
The most amazing thing about my amazing ego is I have amazingly little about which to be egotistical.
The pick and roll this year will emphasize "roll" followed by "dunk", followed by the wailings and lamentations of your women.

That's just me
I really have no idea. Miles could last. Throughout his time in Boston Danny Ainge has done a great job mixing it up an doing the unexpected.

Gabre Pruitt
“Gabe Pruitt has always been one of my favorites.” – Donny Marshall
Has he been around that long? It’s Pruitt’s second season and went to the D-League twice last season.

I am not happy...
…about the Donny Marshall era. I really cannot stand him. He says the most asinine things and unlike when Tommy says them, they aren’t endearing or humorous. They are just asinine. Can i work asinine in one more time. Asinine, there did it, this whole post is really asi…ridiculous.

I'm confused by his presence
Why not bring in a former Celtics? Dee Brown? Someone?

Just Call It
Outside of Pruitt, Walker and Giddens trying to turn the second half into a And 1 special, I’m not sure there is a reason to keep watching. And the bench has been rough.

I agree
It has been a fairly boring game so far. I spent most of it trying to figure out a thesis for and End of the World Lit paper. I am without a thesis but I did watch a bunch of the SNL Palin videos and peruse my Fantasy Football team. Which brings up a good question, isn’t it time there was a green bandwagon fantasy league?
