JR Frustrated But Learning
Pretty standard fare for a rookie (from the Globe):
"I'm not going to lie," Giddens said after Friday's practice. "I'm a little frustrated right now because it's hard to pick up on things and I'm not picking up on them as fast as I would like. But that's part of being a rookie.
"The older guys tell me that's how it is as a young guy. You've got to come here and stay positive."
Doesn't sound like Doc is worried though:
So Giddens "is behind because he doesn't know any of our" plays, Rivers said. "All the young guys are (behind) because of that. He's getting better each day but he has a long way to go.
"The problem usually with young guys is coaches have patience and they don't. He wants it now so he gets frustrated. It's going to take a while, but I'm not in a hurry so it's not a big deal for me."

I can’t wait to see him play, but I don’t think it’s necessarily the best idea for him to be presenting his struggles, flat out saying that he’s struggling.
It should more be along the lines of: “I’m doing everything I can to learn the playbook, however, being a rookie, there is going to be some frustration there as I continue to grow.”
I don’t hear Billy Walker complaining.
Walker’s got a huge opportunity, if he’s really playing so well, to get some playing time while Miles serves his suspension. But he put his time in up here, while injured and before his contract, soaking up what he could.
Giddens I bet wouldn’t be quite so far behind and intimidated if he’d either signed earlier or just showed up and worked out with the team earlier anyway.
