Joe Dumars for GM of the Year
One year after Kevin McHale deservedly won the GM of the year award for delivering KG to the C's leading to #17, Joe Dumars, not to be outdone, deals Chauncey Billups for AI. Again with #18 in mind for his archrivals, he traded the best clutch player/team leader/nightmare match-up for the C's for a volume shooting/offensive flow crushing/non-point guard. He even attempted to trump this by hanging the potential of a better offensive option than PJ/veteran presence out there to aid the cause.
I say if we do win #18 we consider hanging a #4 jersey in the rafters to join last years #32
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

I realize our boys did us proud in Detroit on Sunday night,
but two games seems a bit early to start passing any definitive judgment on Dumars’ acquisition of the third leading average scorer in NBA history.

That trade was about the future
The cap space that deal creates sets up Detroit to transition from eras without having to painfully rebuild. Even if they fall flat and don’t return to the ECF this year this trade cannot be judged a failure until we see who Dumars can sign with the financial freedom he’s created.

Detroit has conceded
Rondo is only better than last year, and Sheed is definitely looking worse. We match up incredibly well with Detroit. They don’t stand a chance and the AI trade was purely a monetary one.
God bless and good night!

Joe D will has a great shot at winning the award either next season or the year after that. Great trade once you get past this season.

sheed is still sheed
dont write off sheed, he still performs on a high level, just not night to night, and are you really thinking that he will just fade in the playoffs? i dont im a huge sheed fan (one thing i agree with barkley) is he can do it all on the court at 7-0, just depends on how motivated he is.
