Pierce No Major Endorsements Why?
Funny thing, Pierce wins the finals MVP, is having talks about being the best player in the league, then why no major endorsements. I know KG has been getting them since he's been in the NBA. I would of thought that I would see at least one major company step up have him endorse their product. Now don't get me wrong, he can be seen locally. No I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about a major ad campaign. He wears Nike. Why no Nike commercial.
Could it be that Madison Ave does not think that he has a personality that will sell. Well he's no Shaq that's for sure. Do they not think he has the look. Well he doesn't have a typical basketball body and maybe he is just average looking. He sure doesn't have that magic smile. So does that mean his accomplishments this past season means nothing to the advertising world. Now Larry Bird another great Celtic had none of those things either. I mean he was tall but did he really look like he had any game. He certainly wasn't going to win any beauty contest. However, Bird got plenty of national exposure. Maybe it was a different time back then. Although Payton Manning fits that criteria in a football sense and he gets plenty of endorsements even before he won a Superbowl. Steve McNair who was co-MVP with Manning and had been to a Superbowl got no national exposure. I know this seems like I am doing a black whit thing here but I am not.
I always wondered how some athletes come in and get endorsements right away before in most cases accomplishing nothing. I think it is just appealing to the vanity in us. whoever is good looking or fits that athletic stereotype will get the endorsements those that do not won't. Even if you have accomplished great things in your sport and have the resume and stats to back it up. If he has another great season. and the Celtics go deep into the playoffs with Pierce leading the way, it will be hard to keep ignoring him or maybe not we will see.
Be respectful and keep it clean. Thanks.

One thing about Pierce and Nike is that his shoe’s are never available for sale. You see Kobe’s commercials and you can buy his shoes everywhere, but it’s not the same case for Pierce. But Pierce is one of their top player for sure.. remember Nike’s Second Coming commercial a few years ago? Pierce was included..

He was also in the extended version of this commercial for Nike, at the 1:22 mark
However, the original is better…just my opinion…though it lacks Pierce’s presence.

Dont forget the Infusion Ball
Paul Pierce has/had an endorsement deal with Spalding for the Infusion basketball(the ball thats never flat). Has no one seen the commercials? Not to mention it’s probably the best ball to have besides a PRO one.

Hmmm...
It doesn’t matter. We all know what he is capable of. LeBron-whatever gets all the publicity while in the meantime, he hasn’t won anything.

Yeah. The Big 3 together have made their commercial appearances…KG got the cover of 2k9…Ray had his movie back in the day( he got game) but Pierce just had that never flat ball commercial. My only theory to this is that he might have been offered a solo act, but turned it down to follow the team “ubuntu” philosophy…or “we” (as in big 3) not “i”. Just like when KG wouldn’t take tv interviews w/o cassell and sprewell in 04….ditto for this team?

The Pierce 'X' Factor
aside from nike support and cameo on espn commercials, he’s largely overshadowed by KG. pre-celtics, he wasn’t necessarily the poster child for ‘warm fuzzies’ with the fans. he needs strong year, strong interviews and a clean off-court.
he is featured on the celtics team page on nbastore.com…which is having some 20% off sale going on…need code NBA20…gonna grab me an oldskool jersey for my son.

Are we seeing the same smile?
Paul Pierce doesn’t have THAT magic smile — I wonder what THAT means. I thought #34 was just a street fighter until the Celtics beat the Spurs last year. Boy did he smile. It was a magic smile, I recognized it at once. He is too cool for commercials. I don’t want him selling anything unless it’s The Truth, which is free anyway.
